Thanks all, I've decided to buy it. Lots of nice glass comes with it, a whole kit.
I think I'll look for a 645n body. I prefer knobs to buttons any day

Ha! I've been wondering about this, thanks for the test. I have an SMC Tak 135 2.5 first version that I couldn't be happier with. I've heard version 2 and the K are much better but now I see there's really no difference to speak of...

You should be ashamed of your lack of foresight. What if they all break, at the same time? Where's your backup?

As I get better (I hope), gear becomes less and less important. Too much distracts from what really matters.
The same can be said for other art forms. When I was a practicing musician I noticed the guys with all the best and latest instruments, 10 or 20 guitars hanging on their walls we're the least creative. I noticed the same effect in art college.

I switched to film (for the most part, except for sports where there's some amount of "spray n pray" necessary) because I felt everything was looking clinical. Clinical to me means too perfect, too sharp, it's more about sharpness and rendering to me. Anything too perfect is without soul, lifeless and boring

That's funny.
Back in my art school days I used to buy clothes at Goodwill by the pound.
I know the disease well, 9 film bodies in the last 4 or 5 months. Hard to resist when it's so easy to find so much like new equipment virtually free, or absolutely free.
Maybe we should start a confessional thread to lighten our collective guilty conscience.

It's headed to Eric as soon as I get my KX back from him.
I had to move fast to get that K, every Pentaxien in the lower mainland was on her like a pack of wolves...

The seller was a really nice woman, she regretted posting it so cheaply. I gave her more than she was asking for it when I saw how nice it was. You're in the Vancouver area?

When I went to pick it up I was expecting to see a big lumbering beast of a thing. Instead what I saw was a beautifully small, refined piece of design. Revolutionary when you look at what was the norm just a couple of years before. So much good, simplified industrial design came out of that era.

Incredible, the camera is as mint as it gets! Everything works flawlessly (so far).
The asa ring moves freely though I now see first hand how poorly designed it is.
Not a scratch on it, looks completely unused. The camera, a 55 1.8 and a 200 f4, an m42 to K adapter, ND and polorizing filters. $100.00
I'll post some gear porn tomorrow...

I finally bought a 15 Limited. (Don't tell my wife). I plan to use it for landscapes and architecture and would greatly appreciate any tips or tricks any of you might have using this lens. I've never shot in ultra wide angle before, there may be a learning curve...
