Well I was selling my Pentax and some clown tried to talk me down (lowball)because of it, even though I told him the problem was fixed.

Hi ,
I have a Pentax K-1 with the Pentax 15-30 and was out shooting sunsets and night shots, boy the star ones are difficult if you don't have anything to focus on. I noticed that my lens sometimes takes a couple of seconds to get auto focus to make the noise and lock on. A couple of times I would hear a beap after the shot? Is this common? I did have the dial fix from Precision Camera on 12/2017 and the tested the auto focus and did recalibration etc? I was using a aftermarket battery and I was at two bars, I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I just tested with my Pentax battery in my house and I noticed the AF was hard to lock on in the dark areas of the house.
And I still can't find the LED LIGHT BUTTON for the on the rear panel screen to light it up?

I don't think my Pentax 15-30 is working right. Tree limbs don't seems to be sharp enough and corners are still soft at F8. I took this picture handheld. Here is the link to download it. Is there a easy way to test it?

I have my camera at Precision for repair trying to say not covered by one year warranty . This is BS I shouldn't have to pay for their Screw Up. I am the original owner, but I do have a 4 year camera accident protection plan through Amazon, Don't know if that will help.

This is the first I heard of this. My serial number is 63952XX should I call Precision Camera? I keep rotating the dial but I don't have any problems.

First time using a Pentax Product. This was taken with the Pentax K-1, 15-30mm lens, and Haida Filters, in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan.

I never checked for dead pixels. Will do the pixel mapping. I figured ed since it was new I wouldn't have this problem. I only took less than 200 shots with it.

Mine is the first shipped model, I tried editing it in Adobe Raw and it didn't take them out. I didn't check dark frame subtraction.

Hi,
First time using Pentax and trying the AstroTracer with the 15-30 mm lens for 3 minutes @ 15mm ISO 400. If you look in the shadow areas there are alot of hot pixels. Taken on a 80 degree night.Is this common for Pentax?

Yea, I am going to hold onto my AstroTracker and 5D with my Canon 16-35 F4, get the K1 with the 15-30mm and compare them. I know the K1 will do better in shadows , but I am not that nitpicky. I still like the colors from this old Canon 5D.

I have the AstroTrac TT-320x_ag with the wedge and I plan on doing nightscape photography with the K1 and 15-30mm lens. I will plan on photographing light houses and currently have the 5D. Would it be beneficiary to just get a Canon 5DSR or the new 5DIV and keep the AstroTrac or sell the AstroTrac and buy the K1. I currently have the K1 on order. Will the K1 work without needing the AstroTrac?

I might switch over from Canon and I use the 16-35 f4 alot and will mostly be shooting landscapes. Does pentax have a FF wide angle for this camera?
