Thanks, You're right 2 Q7s are a great walk around setup for street photography or events.

Took the two Q7s out to a little reptile/animal zoo. Had the 01 and 06 on each of the cameras. Doing indoor shots really pushes the camera but I can still get some cool photos with it. |

Thanks for your input I figured that the flash might be broken as I assume the test button should work everytime I press it, but it doesnt. Atleast I'm only down 5$. I'll see how much its gonna cost to repair and maybe it might still be worth it. ---------- Post added 10-14-16 at 02:43 PM ----------
Hi, do you know of a website for me to sell it to? I don't know if the buy and sell section allows for broken units to be sold.

Hi, I first want to say that I do not have any experience at all on using external flash on any type of camera. I saw a an AF540FGZ on a thrift store for $5 and just couldn't pass up on the deal.
Now I'm trying to use it with my Pentax Q7 and it seems that the flash works intermittently. I've read some posts regarding external flashes being used on the Pentax Q system and I read about having the internal flash disabled, when I do have the internal flash disabled it doesn't fire the AF540 at all. I can only get it to fire when I have the internal flash set to FLASH ON and even then it would just work intermittently, the camera takes a photo when I press the shutter but the external flash wont fire.
Although I am leaning towards that this flash unit might be broke because even pressing the test button doesn't work all the time. I just wanted to see if there is anything else missing.

So after reseting my camera, I am mistaken as this feature is always on, the instant review checkbox only enables you to access the feature when you have instant review turned On. It doesn't disable to feature itself.

It actually affects shot-to-shot time when I am on jpeg mode since it takes time to save the raw data of my last shot. I want to have an option where if I'm shooting outside I can fire shots a bit faster. I know there is a burst mode and I have used that too but I feel get more control on just shooting in single fire mode on certain scenarios.

See, this is what baffles me, I thought that would actually do it. But even if I have the RAW option unchecked on the instant review, I still get the option to save the RAW on my last shot. Note, this happens wether I have instant review disabled or enabled.
Do you have a Q7, would you be able to simulate this issue? Thanks.

Hi guys, I am having trouble disabling the Save Raw Data feature on my Q7. I've read the manual and cannot seem to figure out how to disable this feature. I remember the last time I fixed this was I had to reset my camera but I don't really want to do that again.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Went to a local dog show to try out my new dual body setup. Had a Q7 + 06 and a Q7 + 08. So so indoor lighting. I had to shoot in shutter priority mode as the dogs kept moving around a lot. The 06 kept up pretty good only pushing the Q7 to iso 1600, but the 08 was making the Q7 push up to iso 2500. Most of my keepers came from the 06, while the 08 is a good lens, shooting dogs and trying to get the detail of their coats at iso 1600 and above is very difficult. I also shot in jpeg as I needed the burst shot for the dogs. It really felt that I was pushing the Q7 to its limits. My planned setup would be 08+06 or 01+06. Never really like the 02 for some reason. I'm now just trying to figure out how am I gonna carry it around, I feel a dual body strap will look funny as the're made for DSLR bodies.

Nice dual body set up, I just got a second Q7 myself. Out of curiosity what lenses are you planning to use in tandem? also how are you gonna carry both when you're in shooting mode?

I am currently waiting on a second Q7 body that I bought from the forum market. I'm curious how are you lugging 2 or 3 bodies around? I've looked up dual camera straps and I haven't seen any that are designed to be more descreet and compact.
Also you mentioned you don't have the wide angle one yet, if you get a chance you should get one as it really completes the Q system. My plan is to have the 06 and 08 for both bodies and thats gonna be my setup.

I am sorry if I am being a bother. Why can't it be use as a master flash? ---------- Post added 10-27-15 at 12:06 PM ----------
I am looking for a compact one that can support TTL as I am super new to the flash photography game.

Just want to ask if people here have used external flash guns with their Q system? I am thinking of buying one for added versatility and was wondering if there are preferred flash models/manufacturers to use with the Q7? thanks.

During the time I was researching about the differences between the Q7 and the Q/Q10. I stumbled upon a video of a guy comparing both cameras and talking about the difference on responsiveness between the 2. I will try to find the video on youtube and get back to you.

One of the factors that kept me from using the 06 was that I was always on the move and didn't have time to switch lenses as much as I wanted to. Didn't want to bother my GF while on vacation.
I could have used the 02 as my walk around lens but I was not really impressed with the IQ and the 08 makes the Q even more compact and the one hand operation works better on the 08.
I think if I travelled alone, I would have used the 06 more. I am planning to get another Q7 body so I can rock dual bodies.

Thanks! The 08 is great for landscapes but it's also great for quick street shooting. It's wide enough to put everything in frame and with it's wide field of view its great for one hand operation. I can zoom in and out and set the aperture with one hand while also shooting from the hip.
