I am interested in a Pentax flash to use with my K20D.
Which one is recommended for general use - groups, close ups, and bounce flash.
Is there any difference between the available units other than power??
Any diffrence in features??
Any problems using the flash with bright backgrounds which could fool TTL flashes??
Thanks.

Anyone know the availability of this lens in the U.S.??
Various people have apparently used it, yet no dealer lists it as in stock.
Please advise.

How frequently has this lens been returned for calibration?? My lens seem to lack sharpness, and I was wondering if this is a common problem??
I seem to remember some QC problems.
Has Pentax been cooperative for problems like this??
Also, have the returned lenses actually been sharper after the calibration??
Please advise.

Has anyone has used the K10D + any of the Zeiss ZK lenses???
Sean Reid has just reviewed the 35mm Zeiss lens on a K10D, and it received a very positive review.
If anyone has used a Zeiss lens please advise, and include your purchase source.
Thanks.

FireMate
Your great images prompted my query. Keep them coming. They show a lot of imagination, and the combination of HDR, and fisheye is spectacular.
The old adage still is correct - "if you want interesting photos, you go to interesting places".
Thanks.

There are several Zeiss lenses that have just become available in the Pentax mount (ZK).
Does anyone have experience using these lenses?
I think that they are the same lenses that are available in the Nikon mount (ZF).
Thanks.

Any users with this combination??
I am thinking about it for mixed use as a fisheye, and wide angle lens.
Also anyone with experience on de-fishing software that runs on a Mac??
Thanks.

Does the Pentax K10 use any info from the 540 flash to help to focus the lens in poorly lit situations??
Some of the competition uses the flash AE light as a AF assist light. Does the Pentax??
I was shooting in a dark aquarium, and had to use the built in flash on the weakly illuminated tanks. There was a significant delay in focussing, and shutter release. I wonder if an external flash would have helped both in flash cycle time, and AF.
In spite of the flash reflection, I was able to get some good images, but the AF times were very slow.
Please advise.

This may have been discussed before, if that is the case please direct me to the appropriate posting. If not - what is your opinion - PEF vs. DNG??? (K10D)
I use Camera RAW + PS.
Thanks.

Thank you Stewart.
I will purchase the contact spray since I feel that all that stress on the mount might alter the fit of lenses in th future.
Again thanks to all of you for the advice. This seems to be a very helpful forum.

Thanks for the info. I thought that somehow the dimensions of the lens mount, and camera mount were off.
Will check with a demo body to see if it is the same tightness is encountered.
Thanks again.

Yes. There is some (excessive?) force needed to turn the lens as it mounts.
I have Canon, and Minolta bodies, and the lens seems to require more force to mount.

I just purchased a K10D, 21mm, and 40mm pancake lenses.
The lens seem to both fit very tightly as I am mounting them.
I cleaned the camera, and lens mounts, but no improvement.
Is this typical???
Please advise.

I shoot a variety of subjects. This camera would be used for candid urban scenes - people, buildings. A situation where a small, unobtrusive camera would be best.
Thanks for the reply.

Just a quick question. I am always looking for a "walk around camera" that is not too showy. The Sigma DP1 would be an obvious choice. However, the fixed f 4 lens, and Sigma QC is a bit of a turn off.
So onto my query - as an alternative - K10D vs K100D with one (or more) of the pancake lenses??? I know abouit the price differential. But that aside, is the K100D that much of a compromise??
Thanks.
