Pentax KP or K3 mk1?

The KP is a great camera and I am extremely happy with mine. The only comment I can add is that I recommend using only the oem Pentax battery. I had a couple of Watson batteries that after 18 or so months I had to throw away as they started to swell and became difficult to remove from the camera. I've used other Watsons for other cameras
and never had problems.

Hello - I've been lurking here for a long time - but now being retired I'm looking forward to shooting more and contributing more to the forum(s). Here are my film buddies. The only non working one is the Singlex which was given to me. The seals are shot and I'm not sure I will get it serviced, but I have used its Auto Rikenon 55 1.4 on my K-5 and am pleased with the results.

This lens shines on crop as well as on full frame. I'll never be without it as long as i shoot Pentax. Good luck with the sale.

GR II now selling for $500 new. Time to buy?

Similar to my situation - my 5 yr old GR, while still taking pics, is in need of a good cleaning and some buttons are starting to occasionally stick. I'm very interested in the new GRIII but not sure I want to wait until sometime(?) in 2019 and not sure about spending $900 to $1,000. I took delivery of my new GRii from B&H just the other day and at $499 I have no reason to look back.

A side note, I was curious as to my shutter count and found this quite easy and slick way I've copied from an Instagram post by Ned Bunnell - "Without powering up the camera, select "Movie" mode on the top mode dial. Then simultaneously press the "Playback" and "DISP" buttons. Then use the right 4-way control button to go to the second screen which shows your shutter count." Works like a charm. Thanks to you Ned if you see this.

Hello everyone. I'm a long time member but haven't participated nearly enough here, but I hope to change that this year and am now looking forward to joining you all in this, my first challenge (of any kind). A co-worker gave me an old Singlex his father carried with him in Viet Nam. For the challenge I'm going to use the lens it came with paired with my K10D, the Auto Rikenon 55 1.4. Looking forward to meeting and sharing with everyone.

I don't post much, but I took the GR to Bicycle Heaven in Pittsburgh and thought this worthy of sharing. The museum claims to have the largest collection of bikes in the world. I believe it !!! A really fun place & the owner Craig is a great guy.

Also consider that if you shoot B&W and you want your local drug store/walmart to process it, they generally do it quickly on site with their regular machinery/chemicals. But if you have non C-41 films... they either won't take it or if they do, they need to send it out to a lab just as you would and besides being an upcharge to do this (i've seen it double the cost of regular C-41) they commonly quote a 2-3 week time frame to return it to you. So if you want to shoot B&W and won't be processing it yourself, I'd stick to the C-41 films to save time and $$.

Tuco, love the composition on that Spotty. Cheers and bottoms up !

Here's a Konica 35mm rangefinder that I found on our local craigslist which I then picked up Saturday. It has a couple of (i hope minor) issues and I've just sent it off to Greg Weber in Nebraska for him to take a look at.

Can't wait to try it out as I'm hearing that the 48mm 2 lens is supposed to be pretty nice.
