just got my hands on the 90mm SR recently and here's a macro shot from it. The second one is wide open.
I'm mostly using it for wedding shoots and these macro shots are a nice change from the routine :)

Your samples are the reason why I started looking for the lens in the first place ;)
The shots are amazing and since I am primarily a wedding photographer so it resonates really well.

Hey Z .. thank you so much for the detailed reply. It just reinforces my belief in the lens :) I will give it a shot on my Nikon.
Next mission is to get a better quality adapter!

By the way, the HB 110/2 has completely disappeared from all used lens websites. When I bought the 645z, I could find 4-5 lenses on sale across different websites. Now there is none! (apart from one being sold from the UK for about 2.5k USD)

645Z and Hasselblad V Lenses

I'm trying hard to get some decent results from a Hasselblad 150/2.8 on the 645z but facing couple of issues:

1. Lens not focusing beyond 30 feet (most likely adapter issue)
2. Images are hazy wide open, I am able to get sharp images at f/2.8 but overall look is hazy. The haze sometimes doesn't go away even at f/4 or f/5.6, specially when subject is backlit. Maybe 50mpix sensor is too much for the lens to handle wide open. I've seen the same happen to my nikkor 50/1.2 on the Sony A7r.
3. In comparison, the Takumar 105/2.4 is just simply amazing wide open in any lighting condition.

Now I'm hesitating to go for the more expensive 110/2 fearing it might be similar. Anyone can share their experiences with examples?

Shot today at f/8 and post processed, most shots from this setting were not keepers.

Shot earlier on a cloudy day wide open. Much better!

Hey congratulations on the leap to 645z :) It's an amazing machine and wish you the best for creating amazing images from it

Talking about lenses, I started with a 55/2.8 new one with the camera (got a good deal on it).

Then I went for the 6x7 adapter and bought a used 105/2.4 lens. I now use this one for most portrait sessions when the subject has patience for manual focus :)

Most recently I got a fotodiox adapter for Hasselblad V to 645z along with a 150/2.8. I was trying to go for a lot of bokeh for wedding shoots however I have found the 150 to be very difficult to accurately focus wide open. My copy has a strange haze at f/4 only. Other aperture values are very clear and sharp. So the experience was mixed. On a tripod with enough time to focus, results wide open are amazing.

67 105mm on the 645D/Z?

Really nice image Royce :)

I mostly shoot 105 wide open and nailing the focus requires using live view with zoom. I'm used to that from the Sony A7r so didn't take long to get the hang of it on the 645z. I have the same version as mentioned by Royce and actually bought it from keh :)

cheers

I've been using the 105mm on 645z for a few months as a fast prime for portraits and it's quite good. More recently I've started trying out the Hasselblad 150/2.8 but finding it a little difficult to manually focus. For now 105 will do until I get my hands on the Hasseelblad 110 f/2. :)

here are two recent samples

Thank you :) I am waiting for my Zeiss 150/2.8 to be delivered. It's been delivered from keh and sitting at a friend's place in Dubai. Hope to get my hands on that for portraits. Manual focusing handheld would be a challenge though.

Normally I'm used to the 85mm on my nikon so this 105/2.4 is quite close to that in terms of FOV and distance to subject.

I use a 4th Gen Core i7
16GB RAM
Integrated GPU

3 TB Seagate HDDs (for data)

Running hackintosh OSX Yosemite with PS CS6. Runs fine on 645Z files however I'm planning to upgrade to 32GB RAM.

3-frame pano from 645z and 55mm lens, Dubai Marina

Marina from the bridge by Bilal Rafi, on Flickr

Any advice on how to keep the nightscapes from getting too overwhelmingly dark? I've seen some people use a technique called 'blending' (which might be another word for HDR), but don't understand it completely. Over exposing fixes at bit but then blows the tiny highlights out of proportion.

Wow .. thats a lovely composition .. specially how the sunlight is hitting the structure

Thank you Susan!

Michael .. i share this feeling .. somehow the 645z has created 'feelings' for itself in a very short time .. it is a wonderful machine and a lot more

I have been experimenting the 105/2.4 I recently acquired and an 'ice light' type LED light saber .. carrying the whole load everywhere I got .. following one is of a friend at an icecream shop where we were testing the FLU card with ipad (two words: painfully slow)

thank you so much for taking the time out and replying :)

the adapter will arrive in a week after which i'll borrow the whole kit and try it out for couple of days. will post the samples here along with further details on the lenses. from what i've seen it seems the lenses are older series. The shopkeeper bought them off in some lot along with other equipment and he is trying to sell the lenses off along with a canon adapter. I'll discuss here what are the details once i sit with him and get some info :)

cheers!

Guys .. any opinions on how the 80/2.8 and 150/4 perform on modern pentax MF sensors? I have an opportunity to grab hold of older versions T* 80 and 150 lenses along with a 500CM body very cheap. There is no support system here locally to shoot MF film :( but I'll be able to use the lenses on my 645Z. Any experiences or opinions and comparisons with Pentax lenses would be great.
