Do you ever get frustrated taking low angle shots? The biggest benefit of of an LX is the removable prism. Everything else is bells and whistles. The mechanical speeds are great if you run out of batteries, but that issue is avoided of you carry an extra pair of batteries. There motor drive is cool I guess? But at that point get a PZ-1p because what's the point of using a nice mechanical film camera with an expensive loud clunky motor drive? It's built much better than your Program Plus, but that has no affect on shooting. It has an aperture window, which I personally find super useful, but not everyone really cares for it.

I think it would be much more accurate to describe what AI does as what people in the VFX industry refer to as kit-bashing, which is the art of taking different pieces of existing media and combining them into something new. The most well-known implementation is the props used in Star Wars. These days it refers more to what digital artists do when they layer together 3d generated models, photos, and pre-existing pieces of graphic art and paint over them to quickly create new pieces of concept art used in games and film. There is a 100% chance that a photo is being used to create photo realistic AI-generated pictures. AI can't create anything wholly new, instead it uses imagery that it might (and oftentimes might not) have the rights to to generate a new image, but it's not generating that image from nothing.

The second cropped image clearly looks way out of focus. Have you tried using magnified live view with peaking? Are you using a tripod, and if so do you have shake reduction on? If you surely have gone through the steps of calibrating the focus on the lens maybe the sensor on your K-3 is out of alignment?

Ugh it's cheap for now but people bid so high on these goodwill auctions for listings with terrible photos. You can get good deals on there if you're careful, but from my own personal experience it's like gambling and you'll eventually come out behind because plenty of seeming deals land you fungus infected non functional junk. I've actually had much better luck on eBay where someone might misidentify a listing or post a camera lot where I'm able to identify something good from the photos that isn't written into the listing so it filters out all of the people with saved search alerts.

My LX does that when the batteries are low, everything less than 1/90 is electronically timed. Are you using new batteries? If you're using new batteries, I would worry that it could be an electronic issue, but it could also just need to be CLAd. It also could be the sticky mirror syndrome which is an expensive fix. The mirror bumpers get sticky and the mirror sticks. This requires the mirror bumpers to be replaced and requires the mirror to be recalibrated.

The PZ1-P is a great camera, but very loud. I'd get something like a KX or MX and a Pentax-A 135mm 2.8 to use of you're worried about noise. Just mask the sure that your manual focus skills are sharp.

The SMC Takumar 35mm 3.5 is one of my favorite lenses ever. I would also look out for the 6-element 135mm 2.5.

The Konica IIIa is a camera I lust for that I probably will never get because I just can't justify it. They were truly one of the most beautiful cameras ever made.

From my understanding, refraction is the result of light taking a longer path through a medium which causes it to arrive at a different time. The index of refraction is a measurement of how fast light travels through a medium. Chromatic aberrations are caused by the refractive index being different for different wavelengths of light, thus the different colors are spread out over the image. I could be wrong though and would be happy to be corrected.

Have you checked your batteries? I believe the Super Program can't advance the lever without working batteries

The one that I'm looking at is just the Super Takumar, so I guess it's one of the final two versions. I assume it's not multicoated then? The prices are all over the place on the reviews so it seems like a good deal, though it might be a gamble because the pictures aren't super clear. ---------- Post added 06-24-21 at 06:54 PM ----------
I don't know, this Vivitar (Tokina) zoom is really damn good, and maintains its quality at the long end. I'd say it performs better than my SMC-M 200mm at 200. It's only weakness is moderate to heavy CA even stopped down.

I'm looking for a decent manual focus 300mm prime for shooting film. I currently use a Vivitar 100-300mm f/5 zoom which is actually really good for a vintage zoom, but it's really heavy. I'm looking for something a little better and maybe more compact. My budget is 100-150 USD or less There doesn't seem to be a lot of options out there. Most vintage primes in that range don't seem to be well reviewed, but if be curious of any opinions out there. I came across a Super Takumar 300mm f/4 for 80$ which seems like a good deal, but am I better going with something else?

Northrup is the Ken Rockwell of YouTube. It honestly boggles my mind that anyone takes him seriously.

Dust in the lens won't show up as spots, that sounds like dust on your sensor. Even things like fungus won't show up as direct artifacts in photos, but will cause things like loss of contrast. I wouldn't spend the time to take apart the lens just for something so minor. If you're really worried about it I would get it CLAd by a professional.

I've always eyed the Konica Autoreflex, but between my Pentax K, Minolta SR, and Topcon RE systems I have too many cameras. I do wish they had settled on apperture rather than shutter for their priority mode, I never use shutter priority. Otherwise just the Autoreflex with the 40mm 1.8 wouldn't be a bad setup.

It's a common practice. An eBay seller gets their account compromised via phishing and a scammer uses the legitimate account to scam people with photos and descriptions of high value items stolen from other listings.

If you want something loaded with features and don't care if it's a bit plasticy, go with the Super Program. Think of it as the equivalent to Canon's AE1 Program or Minolta's X700. The ME Super has a better feeling build quality, but I've found they generally have more problems. I wouldn't go with any AF bodies if you're going to shoot with MF lenses, the experience of focusing is more difficult with the plain focusing screen. If you don't need manual exposure, you could go with the ME or ME SE. I prefer the SE because the smooth leatherette is nicer feeling than the typical leatherette. Good luck!

Except it's really not. You're not served a battery-powered blender with exposed blades and no safety features in a drive through that could easily drop in your lap. The temperature McDonald's served their coffee at was incredibly unsafe and the injuries the poor woman recieved were horrible.

What do you mean by "notchiness"? My LX advances consistently and smoothly. Yours could possibly need a lubrication, so it might be worth a CLA.

I use an ergonomic vertical mouse. It takes a bit to get used to, but you'll never want to go back to a standard mouse once you do. It's way better on the wrist than a regular mouse. It forces you to use a handshake posture while holding the mouse which takes pressure off of the carpal tunnel nerve. I also use a very old Wacom Intuous 3 tablet for editing which is also way more ergonomic than a standard mouse, and gives you much more control.

Is that the digitaliza film holder? I have both the 120 and 135 holders, while it's awesome that you get the full film border with the 135 one, it is terrible for film flatness. I often have to open it and relay the film multiple times to even get semi flat negatives. The 120 one is okay though. Negative Lab Pro is amazing, and we'll worth the hundred bucks if you shoot film. On the light table, just make sure you get one with a decent CRI. I bought a tracing pad that has a really high luminance value and a rechargable battery, but gives sometimes poor results and I get terrible color shifts towards the edges of the light pad. The brand I have doesn't publish the CRI for the model I bought which likely means it's very low.

Lucky you, these lenses are really expensive and rare. I have the RE original version of this lens and it's my favorite standard lens ever and I wish I could shoot it on my Pentax, although I don't believe the Cosina reproduction will be quite the same. Cosina tweaked the optical formula and the single coated nature is what gives the original so much of its character. It's beautifully sharp wide open but the washed out contrast gives the images it makes a really unique vintage look.

Oof, this is a very tempting price. I paid about the same for one in user condition with a 28 and the hand grip, but the prism is scratched to hell, and I've always been curious about picking up one in better condition.

Lucky you! I think the prices are so crazy because that's the only camera with a mechanical shutter speed that fast. It has some sort of crazy carbon fiber shutter curtain.

Aren't Limited size is kind of an understatement, the 45 is close to the size of the 50mm ART and has a slower aperture.
