Hmm, thank you. How could dropping it limit its zoom range? Is this a common problem?

Pentax-M 24-35 zoom ring question

Hey all—

Recently I bought another copy of the 24-35 zoom, which I've owned before and quite missed. This copy has a kind of mechanical quirk that I don't recall from my other copy—the zoom ring throw seems rather short, with the red diamond never quite reaching the 35 on the left or the 24 on the right. The ring stops with the diamond about an eighth of an inch to the right of the "35," and an eighth of an inch to the left of the "24." I don't have 24 or 35 primes to see if the actual focal length is correct.

Those of you who own this lens, is this behavior normal?

John

Impressions of K-70 silver finish?

Thanks, BATMON. I answered my own question, too, by buying the K-70 and 20-40 Limited. The two silvers are not even close...although the texture is similar, and the K70 doesn't feel plasticky or cheap at all. I tend to think the silver 20-40 looks a little odd on it, and I that black lenses will be more aesthetically appropriate. I'm excited to use the camera, though.

Any K-70 silver owners who can comment on the appearance and feel of the finish? Is it metal or plastic? Does it feel cheap? And is it stylistically compatible with the silver Limiteds?

Thank you! Planning to get a K-70 but haven't decided on black vs. silver.

Is anyone making a PK-FX focal reducer?

Thanks, jcdoss! I considered getting a Canon EF > Fuji FX Lens Turbo II and adding a cheap PK > EF ring to that, but can't seem to find anybody who has actually done this and tried it out.

I'm kind of surprised to find that there doesn't seem to be a current-production Pentax K to Fuji FX focal reducer. There used to be a Mitakon one, right? Or am I imagining that? I'm finding several M42 ones, but no K. Is this correct?

All items up for sale are in excellent condition. Glass on all lenses is superb; the worst you may find in them is a speck or two of dust. You will likely be able to find some signs of use on the lenses, but no significant dings or scratches. ALL ITEMS ship INSURED FOR FREE in the US OR CANADA. I will not ship these overseas, NO EXCEPTIONS. I'm selling because I'm going NEX, so that I can use my Leica lenses as well.

1. SOLD! K-5. Gently used. I received this replacement body from CRIS when my first K-5 developed the sensor stain problem. This camera has been perfect. Mild signs of use at best. Body cap went missing, so I put on an old Asahi Pentax one. I WILL INCLUDE AN EXTRA BATTERY. Comes in original box with everything the camera shipped with. $925 shipped.

2. SOLD! 31mm Limited. Great shape, as described. Original caps, box and packaging. $850 shipped.

3. SOLD! 77mm Limited. Great shape, as described. Original caps, box and packaging. $750 shipped.

4. SOLD! K-mount 135mm f/2.5. NOT TAKUMAR BAYONET! This is the hard-to-find good one. Great shape, as described. Original front cap and aftermarket rear cap. $225 shipped.

PayPal and all inquiries should go to inverseroom at gmail. Thank you!

For Sale - Sold: Pentax LX og andet fint udstyr

smilex, I think it's just that almost no one will want to buy all these things at once. Most people are looking for specific items--ie., one lens, one LX body. It is of course a pain to sell them all separately, but that would be the quickest way to find buyers.

"Scanning" film with DSLR and macro lens

Does anyone here have a good setup for "scanning" negative film using a Pentax DSLR, marco lens, bellows, and Lightroom/Photoshop? I used to have a Nikon Coolscan but it just wasn't worth keeping for the small quantity of film I shoot. And the Epson flatbed scanners are rather slow.

Would love to see your rig.
