Hello everyone!
I am new to the Pentax world, as I am currently a Canon user.
I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my K-3 tomorrow along with the Pentax SMCP-DA 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 AL (IF) DC WR lens.
I debated a long time before committing to a new system, but from what I have read here on the forum it looks like a smart move.
One of the things that convinced me to switch is the weather-resistant sealing.
The other major benefit of the Pentax that I like is the shake reduction built into the body.
Canon just does not offer the features I desire within by budget constraints.
I have been using some of Tokina's excellent ATX Pro lenses on my Canon Rebel XTI for a number of years.
Tokina 12-24 f4.0
Tokina 50-135 f2.8
I have been very pleased with the quality of these lenses and I am disappointed that Tokina appears to be abandoning the Pentax line.
I think I will be keeping my eyes open for deals on craigslist etc. for vintage k-mount lenses.
Thats all for now,
Chris
