Yeah, and i think it's amazing they focus on something that seems to be so unsexy to so many camera buyers who only focus on specs like iso, speed etc
However, while Hyperprogram is great, it's not really what i want to use... i want Hypermanual, so that i decide when a change is being taken by the camera.
But this gives hope there will be further reminements in the future maybe?

Thank you Chris! Do you know how the algorhythm handles the case that the face is 45° sideways so one eye is further away and only one can be in focus?
I would always want the closer eye to be in focus but i used a Nikon D850 the other day and that part was not working so well... i wondered if i'm expecting too much :-D ---------- Post added 08-30-21 at 07:52 PM ----------
Thank you. I find 90 Mbits respectable

Wasn't the HD bitrate of previous cameras a very low bitrate?
And isn't a 3x higher bitrate still very low, if it has to suffice for 4x the pixels (4k vs HD)?
People, am i missing something? Has anyone with a K3-iii explicitly stated that recording shuts off automatically when a file size of 4GB is reached? You all sound like the camera shuts off recording at that limit, but i can't see that being reported anywhere.
All cameras with this limit i have ever encountered just automatically record to an subsequent 4GB file when the first is "full", without interruption.
I would expect the K3-iii to record to 29m59s, resulting in about 4 subsequent files.

Hi!
There seems to be an endless flood of videos from brand ambassadors.
I'm afraid i don't have time to watch them all, to find out about Eye AF and the bitrate of the video codec.
Do you know any more?

Clean HDMI means just the video image without any graphical overlays like interface, settings, battery symbol etc
edit: Canid was a little bit quicker :-D

Interesting, thank you! I notice though that it says "Clips up to 4GB / 25 minutes". That's not the same as maximum recording duration, because it doesn't necessarily mean the camera isn't capable of continuing recording to a subsequent file without interruption, as some other cameras can. With a lot of other cameras, recording time is either limited by heat problems and/or by EU tax (cameras that can record longer than 30 mins get taxed higher in Europe so the manufacturers just limit the recording time ). ---------- Post added 12-29-20 at 03:38 AM ----------
I would not make that deduction. Yes, UHS-2 would allow for a good bitrate, if also the rest of the pipeline is up to it and, this is where i have my doubts, if Pentax had an interest in achieving this.
UHS-2 has 3 times the throughput of UHS-1, but also 4K has 4 times as many pixels as HD.
The K3-ii had UHS-1 and HD video, and it had a crappy bitrate. Not because card writing speeds wouldn't allow it, but because Pentax doesn't (yet) aim to please video people; they are picky about where to put their limited R&D resources, as any David amongst Goliaths should.
But i keep my fingers crossed that i'm wrong.

Bitrate, sensor-crop, oversampling or line-skipping, raw, raw over hdmi, log, tools (focus peaking, zebra, waveforms,...), maximum recording duration - all make a huge difference and are still unknown.
Of course, different people have different needs. However, 4K is NOT automatically great video.
I would be surprised though if it was more than a barebones 4K implementation. It‘s propably in there because Pentax got it „for free“ with the Milbaut chip.

I really wonder what the benefit is for the people running this site. Is it just eyeballs leading to more ad revenue?
