Which teleconverter to choose for Canon FD lens?

What teleconverter have you used with a 400 5.6 prime in an FD mount? I picked up a Vivitar 400 mm 5.6 FD mount lens and am now looking to extend its reach with a teleconverter. According to this site: Canon FD 1.4X and 2X Tele-Extenders Canon made a FD 2X-A that may be compatible? I'm looking for any suggestions that may work, I'm aware of the loss of light and quality issues. Just want to see what your experience was.

K7 & K10D memory card problem

I have formatted the cards in-camera. Both card manufacturers are pretty reputable, where I haven't had problems with them before. It has something to do with the camera being off and then being turned on again. I remember with the K10D I shut off the function for the camera to turn off after a certain period of time- and the problem never came back.

K7 & K10D memory card problem

Has anyone had a memory card error show up in using their K10D and K7? I've used two different class 6 16 gb cards (Patriot and PNY) and both, once inserted into the camera, will not allow themselves to be written to. The camera says there's a memory card error, I can turn the camera off then on and then the cards work just fine. Both cameras have written to cards 4 gb and under with no problems, since I've used the 16 gb cards I have to turn the camera off and on and then it writes with no difficulty.

kit lens equivalents aviliable?

Are there lenses by Tamron and Sigma that have equivalent focal lengths to the 18-55 and 50-200 DA lenses by Pentax? But a bit faster? I keep seeing a few here and there but don't know if they can equal the quality of the Pentax kit lenses as they are. Anyone have some experience with this?

Weird K10D problem at higher iso

lol Mindflux, if only that were the answer to all camera problems...anyway, no, there isn't a conceivable way that it would be the answer. Nothing is visible at iso 100-200. And the lines are in different places on the frame- but a cleaning wouldn't hurt.

Weird K10D problem at higher iso

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else had encountered this problem. At higher iso's (400 and 1600) I get weird M-shaped lines that are semi-transparent that stamp themselves here and there on the photo. I've only shot with DNG and the files are untouched- the squiggled lines are noticeable and annoying- has anyone else seen weird noise patterns?

Unreadable RAW files?? Help :)

I found it helps to just shoot dng rather than pef. I would always get unreadable or unusable pefs that would be filled with pixels and saturated with the wrong colour. I used the same sd card to shoot dng's on and have almost never had compatibility or picture problems.

Thanks, JCSullivan, yes it is my artwork. I like painting and drawing- though shooting pictures is just as fun. Thanks very much for the feedback, I've been working on my black and white conversions.

K10D and Ebay Wireless Triggers

Has anyone used cheap ebay wireless triggers to connect your K10D to strobes? If so, what kind of wireless triggers were they? I’m looking for an alternative to the pc cable and want to pick up of these ebay triggers but I’m a little confused. Mainly because of the 1/180 sync speed- not being sure of the trigger is compatible with it. Also, are the 12v transmitters safe to use in the K10D hotshoe?

I understand that the 4, 8 and 16 channel triggers are more attractive than single channel units. If anyone has had an experience with these units, let me know, I’d appreciate it. I’m leaning towards a RD616 or on of these:

Can I use this flash meter with the K10D?

Can I just use it on my subject without the pc cord connected to the hotshoe? It didn't come with one- and I had used a similar flash meter just by holding the meter in front of the subject and firing the strobes?

Can anyone identify or explain this flash meter a little bit? I bought it without any manual or documentation. I’m guessing you turn it on, set your iso, the max sync speed on your camera (1/180th on the K10D), fire the strobes and get the f-stop reading from the meter? And sliding the white dome controls incident versus reflective measuring mode?
I do wonder what the word MULTI means on the dial and the number listed to the left of it. Does the jack on the side of the meter mean I have to hook it up to my hot shoe?

I do wish I had the manual for this meter, if anyone can fill me in, I’d appreciate it.

I think the USM looks cool, but I'm always weary of processing too much. Not that there's anything wrong with it, I just haven't used it alot. Pretty interesting. But I did like the background and the softness for that portait, I have this photo that probably is closer to the edit posted by Heinrich from here: www.kemal.ca - Forest
