There's a mode for 27, 25, 9, and 1 I believe. You can also choose from one of 4 select modes that mimic the auto mode's available points.

Got the camera a few days ago. It works just fine until now. I shoot some pictures and. It seems to me that the k3ii photos are more sharpen and clarity than k3 which I also own. I tried PX hand held and got very nice results. The SR system is the secret of this camera as I think. So far I am satisfied with the camera. I hope not getting any issues with the camera such as not getting the off / on problem.

K-3II High res mode ??

OK, so there are some strange looking artifacts in the 100% view.

Basically I would not use the high res mode with the 10 stop ND or when shooting a waterfall. It's not really needed anyway, but might have been fun...

I continue to love your particular form of PP and these three images seem even better than usual. Care to share what you do with them?

Gorgeous...

For my part, the K3 & I (and the wife) just got back from a holiday to San Francisco and Seattle. Walking in the woods in Washingtone state one morning I found this guy and took one of my favourite photos from the trip. The longest lens I had on me was the DA 70mm and I think it did very well, amazing if you consider this was wide open. I think a longer lens would have lost the sense of the environment we were in.

Cross-posted to the DA Ltd thread.

I'm a fan of hat's myself. After a few bouts of basil cell skin cancer, you tend not to care what you look like as long as your skin is protected.

A wonderful day on Flatey (Iceland). Arctic Fulmar swooping past the cliffs where they nest. K3 & 60-250. Lucky shot here with the wing as backdrop to his bill.

A sunny equinox day on the local quay, March 21st (technically, equinox was late in the evening of the 20th, but close enough).

My FA 31 arrived Friday. Saturday morning, I messed about the house looking for some test subjects. Ya, there's some of that pixie dust in this copy. Yeah.

I'm thinking this lens is going to give me some fun monochrome images in the near future.

Looks nice!
I've never owned the 31ltd.
Having said that, how would you say it compares to the 35mm?
Also, anything to note with this lens mounted on the K-5?

K-5 with flash

I tested my K5 against the K20 in the same situation with the same lens, flash, and all other settings and the behavior of the K5 is as follows:

1. Over-exposure when the scene has significant white or light colored areas.

2. Increasing over-exposure when as the subject gets closer.

The K20d tends to under-expose some in the same situations, which I would expect with a light subject. I generally can set the K20 flash when bouncing in the same room and forget it. It is up and down a bit, but not more than 1/2 stop +/- , and it almost never over-exposes.

I cannot explain the white color over-exposure, but the close subject problem seems to indicate that the camera is not communicating the focus distance, which is sent from the lens. This distance is used, along with the pre-flash metering to set the proper flash exposure at different distances.

Hopefully a firmware update is on the way.

I sure cannot figure out how such simple things get through the evaluation of the camera before it is released by Pentax?

5 USER modes - how do you use them?

I would use them the same way as I have used User modes on other bodies. Let's imagine for example, you are doing a wedding. You may or may not attend the rehersal, but you have approached th epriest to be able to check ouot the natural lighting inthe church in advance. Same with the banquet hall or where ever the reception is being held. Same for the greenhouse or garden where you will be taking shots.

You have, in each of these locations the ability to set in advance for natural/artificial lighting purposes, the white balance and limits of ISO and shutter speeds you wish to use. so you set up user modes for them. Or simply you set up these modes yourself for specific types of lighting and subjects that you shoot which may differ from the preprogrammed scene modes.
