K3 mark 3 does 12 frames per second (?). Shooting for 7 second before buffer runs out in raw has it at 84 raw. If thats is a bigger problem than it beeing APS-C over the Z6 full frame. Then I guess nothing would make you get the Mark 3...
And does the high raw output on the Z6-II lean on the fact that it uses CFexpress.

After some failed attempts previous years when I shifted from K-5 with external GPS/astrotracer to the K-1 with built in gps/astrotracer.
I finaly read the manual... I forgott to turn on the GPS.
We didnt have completly dark skies yet due to living in the arctic. But im still happy with a first sucessfull atempt.
119seconds at iso 800 and f/5.6
In the center of the image the stars are still pin point.
Next time I will also take a foreground image and stitch them together.
Main reason we where out was to capture the Aurora that was unusualy early in the season. And one of my first time capturing Purple Aurora. |

The river that runs through my town just culminated its anual spring flooding. This year was quite exceptional with flows over 2000 qubic meters per second. The images might have been in the microwave a bit too long. But I like them the way they came out.
If you are intrested in seeing how the river is during the summer. Follow this link "summer flow" |

Had a nice roadtrip to the Birdsville races and we camped between Birdsville and Windorah.
Moon was half full and cast a nice light over the campground. Not so nice for Milkyway photography tho.

Took a tripp to visit friends in toronto this easter. Did a nice stoppover at Niagara by the lake and the falls. The Pentax K-1 and the DA*55 survived the boatride into the falls !! I had 3 lenses with me, the DA*55, the A 20/4 and the samyang 24 TS
(looking like a evil headquarter)
Impressed that the Pentax Survived this! |

Northern lights looks soft because they are. I use 800-3200 depending on intensity of the northern light and exposure time should not be too long.
With bright enough nl you can even catch it on video. Tho very low fps. This is a video stright from my backyard so no fancy surroundings on this one. But you can see that its all soft even on 5 frames per second. 00007 - YouTube |

Finaly the winter arrived here in northern sweden. Well, it has come and gone a couple of times this season. 20 below C one day and 5 degree and rain the other. Makes for some interesting road condition I can tell.
Halo fenomenon that occurs when its realy cold outside and the moisture in the air turns into ice crystalls reflecting the suns rays. Not a lensflare! :D
Sun sets at 2'a clock up here. So its important to get an early start on the day to get some sunlight.
Uttertracks to the right in the picture (by the stonepier), they later disapeared under the ice. The first uttertracks I have ever seen!
+-0 degrees C when it snows makes everything so pretty once the temperature drops.
Thank you for taking your time to look at my pictures.

First time I have ever seen one of these in my hometown. And all of a sudden they are everywhere. And collegues at work say the same, "never seen them before but they are everywhere now"
