Thread bump!
Ordered a K5 body and an O-GPS1 from JBhifi, after a little haggling and using a gift card I've had forever, I ended up snagging both for $1270 :D Just need to wait for CRK to pull their finger out and get more stock.
Pity the memory cards in AU are HUGELY overpriced. 16GB sandisk extreme sdhc is $129 at JB or.... $28 if you buy a couple from B&H. Same deal with batteries and grips. Next stop B&H!

I'd like to see a K-5 Super (before I go out and buy a K-5!), upgraded AF and SR and a few firmware additions from the raft of wants/thoughts of the users.

You'd have to ask the amazon pricing algorithm that one.

The only zombie walk I'll be involved in is the one outside the local polling booth. Unfortunately the rest of my day is spoken for.

Awww, missed it. Would've liked to have a play with a K5 on this Bigma I have for a while, see how it compares to my K20D (favourably I'm guessing!)

Having not touched my camera seriously in over 6 months, one of the guys mentioned a supermoto trackday. Not having a bike myself atm I tagged along to snap off some shots.
I only had my Sigma 17-70, so planted myself on the inside of the first corner, about metre or two from the apex and took these. I'm stoked at how they came out, especially after not using the K20D for months, and completely forgetting about setting the WB, and turning off SR. The guys were impressed with the results too.
1. He was showing off more than usual for this one ;)

Tagged along to a local SM trackday recently to snaps some shots of the 'tards whizzing around the track. Lenses used were the Sigma 17-70 and a the 50-200mm Pentax kit lens. The Sigma performed great, but the 50-200 was so-so (at best), and needed to be stopped way down before it produced decent results. I would've loved to be able to get my hands on a Sigma 100-300 f/4 for the day but alas I didn't know of anyone who could lend me one. AF-C preformed well, although with the bikes passing a few metres away it did struggle at times, hit rate was about 50/50. Gallery Here
I've submitted a couple to the PPG so lets see how that pans out. Next time out at the track I plan to work on some slower shutter panning, this time I was just getting my eye in.
1. Pentax 50-200 @ 200mm, f/7.1, 1/800s, ISO 400.
2. Pentax 50-200 @ 200mm, f/8, 1/1000s, ISO 400.
3. Sigma 17-70 @ 70mm, f/7.1, 1/1000s, ISO 400. |

I would've loved to have a Bigma to play with the past couple of weeks down at Cronulla for the Shark Island Challange. Massive bodyboarding comp with boarders from all over the world gracing 'nulla with their presence.
