I use the "Program Line" in the menu to set DOF to deep or maximum. I use either the 25 or 28-45 which I consider both as being WA lenses and setting my DOF scale 2 stops less than the lens markings for a degree of safety, my images seem to come the way I like them with foreground and infinity in focus when I want that.
I never hear anyone talking about the "Program Line" option in the 645Z camera 4 menu. Does everyone use it set to "Auto"?

Dave
Is all many of us seem to,be saying to you--turn off the computer, go out your door and head to some exhibitions, galleries, photo stores which have prints on display where they can answer your questions about the prints, etc. It could be just that easy for you. What's so difficult about that idea?

I was in a driving sideways rain storm at the edge of the Grand Canyon. All the Canikon users were scrambling for their covers. I did not even use one and the 645Z never missed a beat. When waiting for changing conditions I just put my tripod case over the Z+28-45. I was soaked after an hour. Wiped off cam later and continued the day.
This said I recall OpTech sold a set of 2 thin and light weight clear camera rain covers with a tightening strap at one end for the lens all for under $10. I see John X beat me to it.

Curious stuff. I hear that in the US courts the only camera files acceptable are Leica DNG from the M9. Mpt sire if later Leica M models are also acceptable.

Wonderful thread. Now I must give it a try. Incidently, I put a Sandisk neck strap on my waterproof remote and now I know where it is all the time.

Agree with the "MASSIVE" comment. I have found though it is surprisingly well balanced on the 645Z especailly since the zoom knob is at the front end of the lens for left hand use. I tried it on the street (normally I shoot landscape-so tripod is normal for me) and found the aforementioned balance made it nice to walk around with. Keep in mind it weighs nearly the same as the 645Z.
I recently sold all my Hasselblad gear including an SWC and I find this lens every bit as good as any Hasselblad V lens and for me much better with its WA zoom capabilities, modern SDM, coating and weather sealing. I shoot in rain, wet weather and near ocean salt spray so this fits right into my needs.
