Compatible RRS Quick Release Plate for KP?

I use a 'Three legged Thing' Ellie L bracket. The advantage is that the bracket comes apart and the long arm of the L used as a QRP
complete with bevel to allow movement of the rear screen.
You have the advantage that you also have an L bracket - it is a simple matter to reassemble the bracket as long as you have the Allen key!

Exposure bar in live view of KP

Thanks again for the replies. It seems that my difficulty was due to :-
I had set up my KP so that the control dial position C1 was allocated to EV comp. and if C1 happened to be selected while in live view the exposure indicator showed EV comp. At any other setting of control dial, the exposure bar appears. The situation is compounded as EV comp indication and exposure bar are virtually identical.

Exposure bar in live view of KP

Thanks for your replies and suggestions

Robiles - my understanding is that the exposure bar (visible at the bottom of viewfinder) shows deviation from camera's "correct exposure" and moves to the centre as you "correct"
any of the parameters whereas the ev indicator shows how much you have altered the suggested exposure and doesn't respond in M mode in live view. My problem is that the exposure bar doesn't appear in live view.
Mahanpols - I tried that first but although standard info suggests that exposure info is shown, the exposure bar isn't.
Fogel70 - it looks as if your suggestion is the answer.

I have explored further and found, by chance, that the exposure indicator works as I would expect - that is exposure bar - responding to changing the parameters to indicate "correct"
exposure at the centre point BUT if my control dial is set to C1 (in my case EV comp) the indicator acts as an EV comp.indicator.
So if I change the control dIal to anything other than C1, I achieve what am looking for in live view.
I am sure that there are other quirks hidden in the available settings that are not mentioned in the manual.
Thanks again

Exposure bar in live view of KP

Hello
I have used Pentax slrs and dslrs for many years (55). I now have had a kp for about 18/12 and greatly enjoy using it mainly in Tav mode within limits. I recently attended a photo course
where we were encouraged to use live view and M mod - I find this very useful due to ageing joints. I immediately found that I couldn't visualise the exposure bar (NOT ev compensation).
I have been through the manual and Yvon Bourque's book (sad to hear of his passing) to no avail.
I would be grateful for any suggestions or the answer.
Thanks

Thanks again for the replies - I've solved it.
I was trying to set parameters which only applied to live view while not in live view.

Thank you for the replies - sorry about delays but have been away for a few days.
Pschlute - I am no using user or movie mode.
Adam - I have followed the manual exactly and when I get to stage 7 and press ev the control panel reverts to its appearance in stage 1. Menu then returns to standby.
There doesn't seem (to me) to be any way of saving the settings I have made - aitho' there must be!
I have been thro' the procedure many, many times with the same result.
Thanks again

Customising the control panel

Hello
I am probably being stupid but I wonder if anyone can help.
I am trying to customise the control panel but after I have set it up to my taste (following the manual to the letter on several occasions), I cannot get the camera to
save my settings and no matter what I have done the panel reverts to its previous settings.
I cannot see what I am missing or have done incorrectly.
I would be grateful for any advice.
Thanks.

Folder numbering

Thanks again for your advice - it worked, the folder number has reset to 100, remains there, and the files number sequentially I didn't realise that I would need to clear the card to reset the system.:)

Folder numbering

Thank you for your replies and suggestions. I think I am seeking to override the DCIM system but my K5,etc seemed to do my bidding with no problem
ie folder number remained at 100 no matter how often I switched the camera off/on and the files numbered sequentially up to 100-9999 and then 101-xxxx.
Perhaps I need to reformat the card and start again but I don't really want to do that..

I forgot to add that my software (LR) has no problem

Folder numbering

Hi
Can anyone advise me how to prevent a new folder being created every time the camera is switched on. I find this very irritating esp when uploading images to computer. My previous K7 and K5 IIs didn't behave like this. I have consulted the manual and altho' the menu offers 'Cancel' in 'create new folder' (spanner 4)
this seems to make no difference. I have altered the file numbering to sequential but still the new folders persist!
Perhaps it's not possible.
Thanks

About the wired remote control.

Hello Garnetgarnet and Tako Kichi

The stereo adaptor I have carries the code L12BQ on the packaging. I am using it with a Pentax own brand
wired remote used with K10, K7 and K5.
Using the Maplin adaptor it focusses and trips the shutter. The adaptor is 3.5 to 2.5 NOT 2.5 to 3.5.
Cheers

In UK £2.99 3.5 to 2.5 stereo adaptor from Maplins works just fine.

Super Program LCD window TTL display shutter & aperture

In the past I have had various film SLRs including a Super A and found that the view finder readout was almost unreadable in bright surroundings
to the extent that I gave up on photochromic lenses in my glasses and came near to changing from Pentax. Thankfully I didn't and the DSLRs seem to be much better.
Rather than being a fault in your camera I think its the nature of the beast.
