I have the same problem with my K5d (about one month old).
Strangely if I take another picture the review functions again (or after turning of and on again as well).

Hi,
I use SB24, SB25 & SB26 flashes with my GX10 for now almost 3 Years and never bothered to remove any Pins and so far never had any sort of Problems.
The really nice thing about the SB26 is its Delay Slave Mode which really works fine with the on cam flash Triggering the SB26.

I guess much of the controversities over these Lenses come from the fact that many mix them up. As a matter of fact the non SMC Version was also sold under two different designations (Takumar F in the USA and Pentax F in Europe).
The Takumar F / Pentax F version was sold as Kit lens for the SF7 (and maybe as well SFX but not sure about this).
With budget lens I didn't mean bad lens! I was just refering to the price as Pentax seems to have a long tradition for even the cheap lenses being pretty decent performers (as is still the case with the 18-55 kit - exception being the FAJ line which I would avoid from what I heared about them).
On a German forum somebody said that the SMC-F version had a price tag of over DM 700 which was at that time (late 80ies) pretty much money and would putt it into a completely different league than the Takumar F / Pentax F.
I cant comment on the performance of the Takumar F / Pentax F version other than quoting others experience as I never owned one myself. But as i said I can absolutely recommend the SMC-F version and think its worth the few more bucks it costs.

I checked my SMC-F 28-80 and i has indeed 5 Blades. The differences between the Takumar F and the SMC F Version have already been discussed in various other forums and the main difference is not the coating but the whole construction with the SMC-F being composed of quite a few more elements (12 elemts in 9 groups vs 8 elemts in 8 groups). I think the Data of the Bojidar Dimitrov Site are right in this respect.
The Takumar F was at its time considered a budget lens which was sold in the kit, while the SMC-F was rather at the higher end pricing and performancewise.
I agree with you that the SMC-F 28-80 is a quite underrated lens. I love the one I have and am always again impressed by the solid construction and especially the colour rendering.

The difference between the Takumar-F (Pentax-F) non SMC and the SMC ones is and always was a highly discussed topic... Is the only difference the lack of SMC coating...? According to Bojidar Dimitrov's Resources (Thank you so much Bojidar for your GREAT page !!!!!!) the whole construction is different... F 28-80/3.5-4.5 Pentax-F 28-80/3.5-4.5
Anyway, Great Pics (and the proof that it is indeed possible to make sports Pics with Pentax )

Sorry to bother again but I dont speak russian and dont want to use a crapy online translation:fedup:
Given the fact that even the DA 18-55 is lighting FF as from around 24mm (At least in the viewfinder of a film camera) the question is rather what quality have the corners?
I think I wil only truely believe its FF capable once somebody tried it with good results with an adapter on a FF C*non...

Assume you mean sharp at f/4 at all focal lengths...
What abaout FF. How did they test that?
Not to start another crop vs FF discussion, but that would be a killer criterium for me as at the price it will be I would want to keep that lens for at least a decade and be prepared for everything the future might bring.
Thanks - Memira

I stumbled across by pure luck. There is a small shop in my hometown who sells old cameras and lenses and he had this bellows to offer for 30 CHf. Its made by WEP and is similar to the Nikon PB-4 bellows.
I just went for it and found out that one can get infinity focus by using enlarger lenses. There are several web sites dealing with this topic like Tilt-shift bellows
However your Componon-S 50 is rather short for this setup...
I have another enlarger lens, a 105 componon, but that one seems to have a 26mm thread and I have still to find an adapter to use it with the bellows.
As posted earlier I will soon start a separate dedicated thread on the whole setup once I got some more practice and some more samples.

Thats real, but taken with a tilted lens.
Its called fake miniature, but this was created with a real tilted lens and not per photoshop as most other fake miniatures floating around in the net.
I have only recently finished the whole setup (M42 Tilt Shift bellows, Schneider Componon 150mm enlarger lens, M39 to M42 adapter) and am still practising to get acceptable results as the lens is quite long and the whole combination rather cumbersome to handle.
Once I got more (better...) examples to post I will start a seperate thread on the whole setup.

Made with a Schneider 150mm Componon enlarger lens on a tilt shift bellows...
The exposure is a little bit off... not that easy to use this combination as you have to meter before tilting (as I had to find out...)

SMC-F 28-80 3.5 - 4.5
I really like the color rendering of this lens. I think its one of the most underrated Pentax lenses. Its small, relatively fast and dirt cheap and built like a tank. Currently dont have a better example to post as I'm at work:o
Another Classic of the F line is the SMC-F 70-210 (second Picture).
I especially like the build and the ruggedness of the F line and theire really nice color rendering. However the clacking when thei hunt is quite distrcting and brutal

My best deal on a Cam and Lens (though not a Pentax) was just 3 weeks agp on the local fleamarket:
Minolta 5000 Body (working)
AF 50 1.7 (like new)
Flash
Camera Bag
for CHf 25.--
Kept the Bag and gave the lens to a friend for his Konica Minolta 5d.

seems I missed the picture of the me 109 in flight (only saw the picture of the same plane on the ground...). If that was taken at 200mm the plane must have been pretty close.
On the wide end I replaced my kit 18-55 with the DA 12-24 which seems out of Budget for you I guess... For General use I still extensively use my zooms in the 28-70/80 range.
However regarding the Kit II there seem to be a quite notable advance compared to the standard Kit (though I cant speak of own experience) which itself offered a quite decent performance for its price.

Static images aren't that much of a challenge for a MF Lens. Regarding the Tamron zoom i can only speak of my own preferences which would tend towards a more versatile (speak longer) zoom range, maybe the kit 18-55 II which seems a rather big improvement over the standard Kit 18-55 and quite much Bang for the Buck.

I usually try not to use the power zomm on my FA* 28-70 as the word is going around that its the weakest spot of the lens and the most likely thing to break on this othwerwise very well finished lens, and as it will be very difficult to get the Lens fixed again...

I have a really bad copy of a Carenar 35 f 2.8. Wide open only a tiny circle in the center renders something that could be consudered "sharp". The rest of the frame is just more than only soft. If stopped down however it gets much better. Anyway flare always remains an issue with this lens.
I have no Idea who made it (Carena was an Importer brand here in Switzerland), but they can be had dirt cheap on fleamarkets in Switzerland.
I would even sell you the lens but its most probably not worth the postage even if I would only charge you a symbolic 1 Chf.

Thanks everybody for your advice.
After researching a little bit more i came to the conclusion that i will start with a 55mm IR Filter on my old FZ30 as the K10d/GX10 seems to be not very IR friendly anyway. With the step up ring 52-55 which I have i can also play around with my GX10 and the Kit Lens and have a look wether its realy that unpractical...
At least my FZ30 will get some use again:) on the other hand however this means no Ultrawide IR at the moment:(
Maybe i stumble across a cheap used *ist or k100d one day which seem to be way better suited for IR.

Hi All,
Though i'm a keen reader of this Forum this is my first post...
I'm planning on doing some IR Fotography and now I wonder if there is any problem with vignetting using the DA 12-24 with a IR Filter as one should only use slim filters with this Lens? Does there exist a slim IR filter?
Thanks in advance for any advice of you more experienced folks out there:)
