I understand how you feel, but you don't have to pay for anything...no one is holding a gun to your head to buy or upgrade to whatever new model is released.
Pentax will design and manufacture cameras that they think meets a majority of their target audiences' wants/needs. If they are wrong then the camera won't sell...

Um, the point is that it is flexible and gives you the option of doing so. But that's not really a good reason for not having built in flash, is it?
So you'll use the few hundred bucks you maybe saved on the camera, and then turn around and spend it on a flash?
BTW, what was the original list price of the 5D...around $3KUSD? Not exactly cheap and the same as the original list of the D700. The 5DMKii sells for $2.7KUSD...D700 now sells for $2.3KUSD?

Whats the good reason? The similiar "class" D700 does have built in flash. Handy for fill flash, but even more useful is the ability to be able to trigger off-camera slaves...

Sure, but lets widen the test criteria shall we? Lets test situations that really push a camera to its limits then:
Low light
Fast moving objects
Frame per second / speed
Resolution
I think it's safe to say that of those items, we already know what the K20d would fall short at, compared to a D700...
So maybe (probably...) I'm being dense, but what is the point of comparing 2 entirely different classes of camera?

Exactly, its a different class/type of camera and they're comparing apples and oranges and with a very narrow test criteria, basically static objects in low light with the camera on a tripod.
Do the same comparison with other more expensive cameras with similar resolution, and I'll bet that you'd also have to pixel peep to see any difference...

I would take that quote with a grain of salt. I'm all for pixel peeping and measurbating, but at the end of the day, for me it is about getting the shot. However great SR is, it can't compensate for a fast AF system. Which is the strength of a D700, low light/high ISO coupled with extremely fast focusing...
Read the article comments for a much eloquent explanations...

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Used mint K20d special for Toronto Pentaxians Asking Price
$750 CDN Item Description
Hello,
I know there are a lot of Toronto Ontario based Pentaxians here so I thought I would try to sell locally first. That way there is no shipping and the buyer gets to see and try the cam.
Need to sell my K20d to fund another purchase. This was purchased from Henry's approximately 4 months ago.
The camera is in near mint condition. The only mark is a cosmetic scratch on the bottom of the camera that happened when changing a tripod quick release. Have not checked the shutter counts yet, but I'm reasonably sure it is less than 1000 clicks.
Will come with Henrys receipt, everything in the retail box (sealed software, manual, etc.), as well as an added bonus of an extra Pentax branded strap (so 2 straps in total).
Please note that price is in Canadian dollars and I'm pretty firm on the figure. If I'm unable to sell, I can get pretty close to that by trading in at Henrys through their Half Back program. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?
Yes Are you selling or trading this item?
