K1 users: what lenses do you use?

It"s great to read all your personal choices you have made!

My personal preference is primes. I have used a 35mm for years as my main lens but sometimes this wasn't wide enough. Later I shot with the 24mm for some years and after a while I found this lens was too wide.. For me the Pentax 31mm limited is right on that spot I wanted! I still do love the focal length.
But.. what I dislike is the loud motor and the slightly bad focus on darker moments. For personal use this is no big deal but I found it unpleasing at some jobs. These (occasional) jobs do make me doubt to go for a more modern zoom but I'm not sure yet. It could make me more flexible without the need of hiring some equipment.

I was surprised by the praising of the 28-105mm. As an ex Canon user this lens didn't sound like it was worth considering.

For the moment my choice will go between the 28-105 (price/quality) , 24 -70 (wider, bigger apperture - but I have read bad stories about the chromatic aberration) or that lovely 77mm limited (because image quality..).

Ideal was a zoom and a prime but that won't be for this year...

K1 users: what lenses do you use?

2 years ago I have sold all my Canon gear (5d mkII / 24mm f1.4 / 17-40mm f4 / 85mm f1,8) to go for the K1 with the 31mm limited.
Yes.. I went from my somewhat ideal set of lenses to - literally - one 'limited' lens. I guess I like limitations from time to time, but after 2 years it's time to think about buying a new lens.

To get some inspiration I am curious to hear about the lenses you all are using and in what situations. Are here also any frequent vintage glass users?

Im curious to hear about your most loved lenses and it's time to confess what your dislikes about them!

My K1 shell is cracked. Will Precision Camera replace that?

Last summer I had a crack in the shell of my camera. When I was watching through the viewfinder a loose part was hanging. Then I found out my Top shell had a crack. This really was strange because my camera never fell. I never knew how the crack came there. Maybe the Pentax isn's as solid as they claim to be, maybe It bumped against a wall or something happened when it was in my camera bag. It will stay a mystery.

I gave it to my local store for repair (Belgium) and they have sent it to Pentax. I think more than a month later I had my camera back. They changed the top plate, did some other vague jobs for a price of 356€. What they forgot was to inspect what's wrong under that top plate... My camera worked perfect but I have decided to send my camera back. This time I lost my camera for almost 3 more months! My camera came back all repaired when the summer was over (I had to do my summer travels and a few jobs with my good old Pentax 67, which wasn't that bad after all ;) ). Lucky for me my camera came without any extra costs because I had an agreement the repair would cost 356€. My local store told me it would be expensive, they replaced my pentaprism and more.

Good luck with your repair! I hope it won't take that long and you can get the costs low.

Damn that sounds like horror! I guess u 're right, it will be the closing curtain. I've bought it including 4months guarantee left (the preveous owner bought it in a shop, and I think I maybe just discovered the real reason why he was selling it after only 2 months of use) . I hope it can be fixed!

Pentax 67 Light leak?

Last week i have bought a Pentax 67. The previous owner has inserted a Lomography iso 100 in it, so that was my first roll to experiment with. Now the pictures are developed i notice in almost every picture there's an overexposured strip on the right side of the pictures. Only pictures taken inside or with a long exposure are normal.

Is that an example of a light leak? Or do i have a bigger problem?

In any case, i'm planning to redo the seals
