That's interesting. I've read a lot of complaints from people who are frustrated by the lack of focusing aids in the viewfinder and subsequently complaining about how dim the viewfinder becomes when they replace the focusing screen with one that has such aids.
Thanks for sharing.

I've read that's the best. How do you find focusing them on the K-S2? I'm guessing the focusing screen lacks any manual focusing aids. Do you use live view?

What kind of adapter do you use? Is it a flange type or the official pentax one?

This is definitely food for thought. One would think bigger hole = more light, but if it's true that larger lenses need relatively larger apertures for the same amount of light, then that won't be true. I wonder why they would, though. ---------- Post added 04-01-15 at 01:35 PM ----------
These are fantastic. Are those M42 lenses?

You're right that the MX-1 is 6mm, that's what I did my calculations with, though I erroneously wrote 12mm.
It can be very confusing. The f-number represents the relationship between the focal length of the lens and the physical size of the opening. That's it. This is why you can't just compare f-numbers in determining which lenses gather more light. Lower f-numbers mean more light gathering only at equivalent focal lengths.

Thanks for the sample shots.
For what it's worth, the lens on the mx-1 is slower than the kit lens you took that photo with. At it's widest end (12mm), it's f/1.8. That works out to an aperture of 3.3mm (f-number = focal length / aperture diameter). At the widest end (18mm), that kit lens can open up to f/4. That works out to an aperture of 4.5mm.
EDIT: The MX1 is 6mm at its widest.

What were you focusing on in that second image?

I have to disagree. This is a terrible product video. For one, it's not even a video. It's just a slideshow with a voice over. More importantly, the features are merely listed rather than demonstrated.
I've been searching the web every day for a review of this camera, or even some sample photos taken with it, and there is very little available.
