Tripods/ heads and your recommendations

I have the exact combination of tripod and trigger ball head. It's a combination kit at B&H. I love it. The only thing I don't like with the tripod is that the center post doesn't flip horzontal.

I've use the trigger ball head on my monopod on a trip to Hawaii and loved. It's very study and allowed me to switch the trigger for a lefty.

Looking for a new camera bag

I plan on taking my 150-300mm Sigma, and my 28-70mm Tamron and a flash. I was on a trip to California last year and spotted sharks off-shore, but I didn't bring a long enough lens. I also enjoy shooting birds and other wild life. So I thought I would bring the BigMa this time. I am looking to store the camera bag under the airline seat, not in the overhead storage. I prefer a backpack type bag.

I'm traveling to Hawaii next year. I'm looking for a camera bag which will hold my Sigma 150-500mm lens and other lenses and fit under the airline seats. Any suggestions?

Problem with light metering TTL

I have a K10D. I've noticed that the light metering in the camera is way off. It completely overexposes the pictures, eventhough the camera believes the settings are correct.

I usually shoot in the manual mode. I've played with the different metering settings and it doesn't change anything. The pictures are still overexposed.

Any suggestions? Does anyone else have this issue?

What was it like in the good old days?

I started is the 70's with a Kodak point and shoot. I got into sports photography in the 80's. The owner of a photo store was a friend of my mother's, convinced my mom and me that I needed a SLR rather that a PS with a zoom lens. I ended up with a Ricoh SLR body and 28-70mm and 70-210mm Tamron lenses.

Last year the camera body film advance failed and no one could fix it. I read and was told my old lenses would work well with Pentax so I don't have to buy new system. I bought my K10D last fall and still using my old manual lenses. It's work out very well.

I'm new to Pentax and digital SLR. I've been a long time film user. My old flash is not working well with my Pentas K10D. So I too have been looking at these 2 flashes. Can you use th Pentax 549 FGZ or the Metz 58 AF-1 off camera?
