I stumbled across this poor guy while out walking.
I don't find this image to be even slightly disturbing but if you are not a fan of deceased wildlife then look away now :)

I had the S-M-C variety but have since sold it, a really nice lens, good for a 24mm of it's day but too big and heavy for the extra angle of view gained over the 28/3.5, which i think is a much better lens.

As usual though, great shots!

There's been some great shots here lately, great work guys.

I really need to get out and shoot seriously again sometime soon.

The original poster did say "slight" dent and i have had success getting name rings off even when the filter threads have been a little mangled, the name ring on the 55 is very tough by the way.

Nevertheless, great point Just1MoreDave.

You can buy a filter ring vice which is the correct tool or some people have success using wooden blocks and a hammer.

I would search for a cheap broken/fungus infected 55/1.8 and salvage the part, it will be a lot cheaper (and better) then getting it repaired.

The 85/2.2 Soft has a 49mm thread i think although i've never used one so i could be wrong.

I'm not 100% sure if you meant my photo P67, if you did then many thanks :) but i think the shot owes a lot more to the wonderful rendering ability of the lens rather than the photographers eye.

Sorry cupic but i think you need to check your source on that.

If Mars was as close as the moon then i'm pretty certain we would be in a bit of trouble...

I've never had an over rotation problem..yet. Mine are mainly of the Kood brand as i said above.

Agreed, i never understand people gluing the adapter but i dont get cutting/drilling notches either. The lens always stays in place fine without for me.

And me.

Since the clips are weak (i've had several official Pentax adapters break over the years), every M42 lens that is in my bag gets their own adapter permanently screwed to the lens mount with the small clip removed so that they now act like K mount lenses.

I have found that the "copies" (mine are mainly of the Kood brand) are actually better for this purpose than the original Asahi adapter since they have a fraction tighter fit and keep the lens in place better.
