This is a K-3 with a Pentax M-1.7 50mm lens.
Using the viewfinder, pressing the green button or the DOF preview position on the power switch everything works great. The lens stops down to the aperture, the camera selects settings (green button), and the lens snaps back to full open aperture.
However, when using live view the lens does not "snap" back to full open. It somewhat slowly returns to full open while making a disconcerting noise.
Is this normal behavior? Is live view using so much power to hold the mirror up that the camera has less power left to open the aperture back up? Is the spring in the lens almost too strong for the camera in this situation?
This "problem" does not present with the Pentax 18-135mm WR lens.
I received the K-3 just two weeks ago after being pentax-less for 4 years after a theft (of my K10D). I really like how the live view helps with manual focusing with the manual lens at low aperture settings, but now i am hesitant to use it in conjuction with the green button or dof preview for fear of damage to the camera..
Thanks,
Alex

Its an excellent picture, and it drew my attention for more than a few seconds. Nevertheless, i think the chevy avalanche detracts form the image somewhat.

the first one if definittely pront-worthy. The second one is pleasing to look at as well, but somehow the subject is less clear or something. I dont know as much about photography as id like to, so dont take my word for gospel truth.

I looked over the picture briefly a few times before it actually caught my eye. Something about the simplicity that is pleasing to my eye. Its probably technically all wrong though. Please give tips and constructive critisicm, especially about car photography (my car is my favorite subject). |

Some cropping on the left or right side or both might help.

I like the power lines. I think the picture would be a bit too boring without them.
