This bald eagle yesterday was about to launch on a cotton-tailed rabbit in a nearby pasture. Look at those talons.

We are currently on holiday on Brownsea Island (UK) so we are getting plenty of time to play with the squirrels!

There are hundreds of images to go through which I'll probably do when I get back, but here's an idea of how much fun we're having and how close we could get!

Nature Snowy Owl - return in 2016

That would be my second best birding spot, knowing in advance that the Snowies gather along the St Lawrence River shoreline from December onward.
This one here is likely a returning owl as it always can be found in specific spots year after year.

The hardest part of this shot was getting a bubble that didn't burst on contact with the snow. Once I got my "bubble formula" right they would last for minutes before just collapsing on themselves.
