I like the 2nd one. The open gates seem to be drawing me in.. to go explore in the fog.

I did another movie and took my camera along. The shots aren't great (as I am supposed to be working)
But I like these (mainly the composition)
I really wish I had more time to set these shots up better and shoot on something other than automatic, but such is life.

Well it was hard to tell as there were no cards.. But from what I could see briefly on the screen with the 300mm lens it looked great. (I know sometimes they look great on the little screen when they are slightly out of focus, but from what I could tell they looked really sharp)
Pannoguy that would have been awesome! But I got some kick @ss deals for being at the last day! Heck one of the Henry's employees reduced the price on the camera bag I was buying while I was standing in line :D I got a Lowepro camera bag that was normally $56 for $16!!! It stared out as 19.99 when I got in line. I got a small Roots camera case normally $24 for $1.00 .... so whilst as much fun as hanging out with Pentaxians would be-I loved my deals!!!

I went to the show today (and got some fantastic deals .. I think I will always go the last afternoon of the show ;))
I am in love! I think it would depend on what issues you have with other Pentax cameras. I have a K20 (I think its AMAZING) and I would like faster focusing. I tried the smc PENTAX-DA* 300mm F4 ED[IF] SDM lens on both my K20 as well as the K7. The focus was MUCH faster on the K7.. and it didn't have to 'hunt' at all to find focus in low light/low contrast. That alone would have got me. (I like to take pics of fast moving dogs.. so fast focus is great)
I also liked the 5.2 fps shooting. As well as the improved noise reduction in low light.
Soo I will be selling my K20 and getting on the waiting list for a K7!

I got to play with a K7 at the Pentax booth at the "Photographic, Video & Digital Imaging show today" Now first off I have to say.. does anyone want to buy a used K20 in great shape? :D
I can't say I noticed a weight difference when holding it. I didn't hold it empty, but i played with it with the same lens (300 prime lens.. so reasonably hefty). But then I might have been so excited with a few of the improvements I wasn't paying attention to weight!

Peeking from the safety of the other side of mom's neck.
The sneer on her face makes me laugh!
Watch out the dog is scary! |

I like the sepia ones a lot. My son (8) said "Whoahhhhhh whats that!?" in a very 'that is so coool voice' to the second to last pic. I bet they look better larger where more detail can be seen.

I like the second one.. what if you cropped a little of the arm out so the bottom of the frame was the right hand side of the bottom of his hand? It would mess up your proportions if you were aiming for a specifc size but I think it would bring focus to his eyes.

Thanks JMR.. its so much easier with good models. I have almost had my camera for a year now (will be a year in July) and is my first SLR of any kind. I have to say I know I still have a lot to learn but WOW are my pics better (in part due to this forum, the rest due to lots and lots of trial and error) than what they used to be!!
JRTs are the best dogs on the planet. :D Dekka is 4 years old and has titles in agility, obedience, rally obedience, and more. I have 2 other JRTs at the moment as well as 3 other dogs.
Interesting factoid. Dekka is 4.5 weeks along in her pregnancy in these pics, which is 1/2 way through gestation for dogs. I wasn't expecting any more shooting as its supposed to be a winter movie.

I am almost thrilled with this pic.. but its just missing something. Any suggestions? I can't put my finger on why I am not as happy as I could be with this. (though its a heck of a lot better than what I was a happy with only a few months ago)
Thanks!

I was pretty busy but managed to get a few shots when I wasn't needed of my dog, the scenery and took a couple of head shots for the actor.
My dog
she was squinting a bit but I still like it
A shot of Bill Sage very much in character
It was too cold for me to try the water.. but Dekka thought it looked fun. |

The fox was a big problem. He wasn't the least bit afraid of people. Having a fox around when you have a JRT (and need that JRT to stay focused) is very stressful!
But he was the healthiest looking fox I have ever seen. I have more pics but none are really crisp.. annoyed the heck out of me!

Great shots! (and Planedriver too) I never thought about planes as subjects before. I love to watch them take off and land at Pierson.. need to take my camera with me some time. Though I doubt I would get anything as good as yours.

I sometimes do movie/tv work with my animals. This time Dekka got a staring role in a short film.
Not a great pic.. but shows the lengths I went to to keep her warm Dekkastayingwarm.jpg picture by GreyRun2 - Photobucket
My telephoto lens is a cheapy.. I think I need a better one. I did shoot on auto a lot of the time (fingers too cold!) but still |
