although i am personally very2 upset that pentax did not improve the AF speed of the k20d, i believe what you haves said is very true... i wish that this new sensor will mark a new successful beginning for pentax so they may introduce faster camera in the future which will be unequal...

Myself included. I dont have the needs for the high fps, but i do (really) need the fast AF. Stunning pic quality MUST be combined with the ability to QUICKLY capture the moment, hence the need for fast AF and (sometimes) high fps. What good is a 1 stunning image with poor moment compared to 10 standard images BUT with great candids? Unless you shoot in a studio where you can have the luxury of having ppl to wait for you than its not a problem. What about events like sports, indoor wedding etc.?

Cant agree more with you on that one.
A great picture is a great picture if you are able to shoot one, thanks to the AF ive lost many shots becoz the camera was so busy tuning focus. Pls dont tell me to pre-focus, thats why AF was developed, otherwise might as well stick to MF all the way.

Agree... it could be a greater camera had they improve the AF performance...

My guess is the slow AF is not because of the motor. Its the AF mechanism itself ( i dont know what to call it). Because even a non motor lens work a hell lot faster on the N/C bodies than the Pentax, it shows that AF is not all about the in-lens motor.

Thanks. At least your opinion confirms to my findings as well.
I hope the new bodies will match the Nikon/Canon AF performance and metering.

Hi,
I would like to know how is the AF speed issue esp. in low light performance with the SDM as compared to the USM/SWM?
I am frustrated with my k100d AF performance (the only thing i didnt like about it).
Thanks.

Hi,
I am trying to understand the relation of camera sensor and RAW. Since RAW is unprocessed image of what the sensor actually 'sees', does this mean that all camera regardless of brand but using the same sensor will output the same RAW quality image?
Thanks.

The most important thing that made me look forward to the DA* lenses is the inclusion of SDM. I truely believe that Pentax should SDM all their future lenses, DA* or not...

Hi,
The general consensus is that the best is to shoot in Adobe RGB. But Scott Kelby and Ken Rockwell said dont bother and use SRGB all the time.
Please advise.

I believe that PENTAX should follow Nikon, by including in-lens motor in all lenses. Nikon kit lenses have SSM dont they, why shouldnt Pentax?

I believe that SDM should be included in EVERY lenses in the future, not just DA* lenses.
