The lens is a USA market lens, which was purchased new by me in 2016 and is less than 1 year old. The lens is in pristine optical, mechanical, and cosmetic condition.

I see that many retailers have the Pentax HD DA 55-300mm f/4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE lens currently priced at $396.95. Based on Amazon's page that is a discount off of the List Price. Does anyone know if $396.95 is really a temporary "Sale" price or whether it is just the regular pricing of this lens?
Until just before Thanksgiving when Pentax announced firmware update for the K-3 to work with the KAF4 lens mount, I was not paying any attention to this new KAF4 mount lens or it's pricing. I'm wondering if I should buy now (if it's really on sale) or wait until after the holidays when cash flow is less strained.

Interesting squirrel. I've seen some black squirrels in Illinois, but none with a brownish red tail. I especially like the first photo with the squirrel staring you down.
