I bought a flash AF360 from ritz.com and the flash was scratched when it arrived. I called them and they said they would replace it. They are supposed to email me a Shipping label to print. I have not seen that email yet. They said to wait 24 hours.

I think also the focus point (red dot), if that is important knowing where it is focusing.

I remember forgetting my memory card for a family event, had to ask another guy taking pictures on his point and shoot to take a picture with my DSLR. :) He oblidged. There are so many things to remember even in setting that can be a problem the next day.

I would like to see the new setup in viewing the aperture and shutter speed iso etc on the LCD like in K2000. Since the K200D LCD on top does not light up, it would be nice to have some clear display on the LCD.

There is an option in the Menu -> Custom Setting (C) -> Wb when using Flash -> Change that to unchanged

Pentax K200D with Kit Lens. I used a polarizer for some of the pictures.

K100D Size 129 x 93 x 70 mm (5.1 x 3.7 x 2.8 in)
K200D Size 133.5mm x 95mm x 74mm (5.2 x 3.7 x 2.9 in)
There is very little difference in size between K100D and K200D...either way it will take some getting used too...Also K200D weighs 30 grams more...

I have had similar problems but not that often....I have changed setting in my custom menu to say "exposure and focal length" to "off", I dont remember the exact words...that sometimes would help...But I make sure to lock focus and exposure.

I am not sure, because I didn't notice it earlier. When I shake my camera in my hand I can hear the sensor and the whole mechanical unit move inside the camera. Something similar to the dust removal not as bad as that. It happens even when the camera is turned off. Do you feel any thing moving when you shake your camera. It is a Pentax K200D.
Thanks

You have beautifully summarized what so many of us making a switch from P&S struggle with. I also expect my K200D to give me results like P&S without being too concerned about any lighting. I am realizing more and more that I need to understand the lighting, ISO, Aperture etc before I take a picture.

I tried to take a bunch of photos of my friend tossing a football. I just seem to struggle to use the camera. Not even one picture was completely in focus. The time was around dusk and was taken in "Action" mode.
What do I need to do to get better pictures, especially action shots.
Here is a link of the pictures. Action Shot - a set on Flickr
Thanks

I think under Setup setting you can change whether you want the folders according to date (which creates a seperate folder for every date) or a folder called "Pentx".

Why does Pentax call it Kit lens 18-55mm lens (which in 35mm language - 28-82.5mm). Why do they use those terms to descibe lens. I understand that those lens can only be used with camera that have a 1.5X crop. Is that true?

I think the Bright, Natural, Landscape makes a difference in certain colors especially green. I have taken a few pictures and looked at the results in each mode. Maybe you should check it out to get an idea. You could also do it.

Is there any option in Pentax K200D to turn on a light on the screen on the top of the camera. I am not talking about the LCD screen but the information screen. I know all the data is visible through the viewfinder, just curious, would be useful when it is dark and want to use adjust the exposure.
Still new using the camera.
Thanks in advance.

Well I played with the kit lens to make sure it was completely in place and then took the picture and it worked. I think some loose contact. It was indoors and the room was fairly dark.
Thanks for your help
