The lens has now 1 year and 2 days if I am not wrong. I have the receipt of when I bought it, I will try to contact the store to see if they can sort it out for me.
Thanks

The warranty is now over, it was very unfortunate, it ended while in service. There is nothing I can do now, the repair is to costly for that lens, I didn't like it anyway.. I just got a bit frustrated with the store and myself because I was not aware of that..

I will try to sell it as is with the repair estimate attached.

Thanks guys

Hi there,

I bought 16-85mm HD DC a few months ago and the DC motor decide to go bad! I send it in to repair within warranty, something I have never done before, and it seems that the warranty card needs to be stamped by the store. I bought this lens in Germany and I was trying to fix it in Norway, but there is no way to be covered by warranty without the stamp. This way I am suppose to pay 270€ for the repair, something I am not willing to do as I was never very happy with the lens anyway.

Can someone tell me if there is the possibility of deactivating the DC motor and use the screwdrive with this lens? I am using a K3

Thanks

Cheers

I just tried to get mine (bought in Germany) fixed in Norway, within warranty, and they told me that the warranty card needs to be stamped... they were asking 2500NOK, approximately 270€ for the repair...

Do you guys know if it is possible to deactivate the DC motor and use screwdrive?

Thanks

Hello,

I guess one important question is what do you already have on your kit? What do you shot?

Trying to find a reason to "need" a lens make no sense unless you don't care about money or have a lot, but still makes no sense in my head.

Nothing like that, contrasty subject within minimum focus distance.

If using the viewfinder it usually focus but I have to push the focus button around five times. The focus just moves so much each time that I have to press it a few times until it gets there, when it does... And as I said in live view forget about it :/
It seemed very nice in the beginning, fast and precise. But for some reason now it doesn't..

Hey guys! Anyone had a problem with the DC motor on the 16-85 HD lens? It doesn't lock focus, I have to press the af button like 5 times and it gets closer and closer and eventually focus... I have tried both on a K3 and K3II same thing happened. However sometimes it works, this is using the viewfinder. When using live view it never locks. Already clean the contacts and I don't have the problem with any other lens.

Anyone experienced the same issue? Or any ideas of what could it be?

Thanks

Hi everyone. I have been for a while thinking in buying a DSLR, as I have been shooting with a bridge camera for years, and now I own the amazing pentax k3. I decided to make this account because many reviews and opinions on this forum led me to make the right choice when going for Pentax. I hope I can give something back to the Pentax community and photography in general.
