No really, I use a lot of manual lenses (M42 and Contax/Yashica) on Canon EOS 60D. Many of them are Takumars in different versions.

The 85mm is far from infinity, and the previous 85mm from Asahi (Auto-Takumar, Super-Takumar) has all worked with the same adapter + camera.

I have two S-M-C Takumars with focusing issues.

- One Asahi S-M-C Takumar 85mm/1.8 that which focus stop a bit before infinity.
- One Asahi S-M-C Takumar 50mm/1.4 that seems out of focus, is the only lens for which I need to adjust viewfinder diopter.

Any suggestions/ideas how to fix this? I have taken apart one Super-Takumar and on old Pentacon before, but I'm a bit afraid to play experiment with the ones above, I want to be sure I cant put them back together again ;)

Whish I could, it's only for Windows yet. Nice at least that they said that they are working hard on Mac and Linux-versions. When wichever one of these is released, I will certainly give it a try.

Thanks

And a false one I might add, due to error in translation before the 50D was announced. There will be no inbody stabilization for Canon, how would they then sell all their IS-lenses ;)

Waiting for my latest purchases, Spotmatic, SMC Takumar 55/1.8, Super Takumar 28mm/3.5, Super Takumar 135/3.5. And some other stuff... :D

And my next DSLR will be a Pentax instead of a Canon. Stabillisation and af-confirm in the house sounds great for my manual lenses!

Hm, just wanted to add I just posted a review on my site, of the Pentax Super Takumar 35mm/2.5 m42:

That was before I noticed there were review-functions in this forum... added a link to the member opinions on the lens here on the forum.

Morning. Just registered. My name is Mattias, I live in Sweden, married, father, run a company, webdesigner who started off as a painter, crazy about old camera stuff.

I just got a Super Takumar 35mm/3.5, which is my first Pentaxgear. But I'm sure more will come. My webpage I guess you'll find through my nick, my flickr is here: Flickr: Mattias Wirf's Photostream
