From your image, it seems pretty decent. I will check out the lens club. Thanks! ---------- Post added 06-17-2015 at 08:30 PM ----------
Yes, I shoot the Rokinon 14mm 2.8 on my Canon 5D. It is the same lens that you mention here, just with different branding. They are absolutely sweet lenses for sure. Funny you bring it up because the debate that I am really having is if I am going to go with the Pentax 14mm 2.8 or the Samyang/Rokinon 14mm 2.8.
Also, thank you for the kind words regarding my photos on my website.
Thanks! Brett Abernethy |

The colour contrast definitely helps your subject stand out in the second photo.

I shoot a Canon 5D iii full frame and a Pentax K3 ii. When you are really working and I mean working as a photographer, it is nice to have the size of a FF body such as Canon and Nikon. It is much easier to find the buttons you are looking for without actually looking at the camera. As well. It gives you something to really hold on to.

Agreed. The colour on her face works with the blouse.

Overall great. I prefer the shots without mirroring. The natural flame is stunning as seen in the first shot. Also, I'm undecided if I like the match head in the shot or not. Love the work. I'm going to follow you on flickr to see what you come up with next.

I love the low light nature of the first shot. The detail draws attention from the flower to the interior structure of the flower which you were clearly trying to do here. A great low key exposure. An overall great shot.

Well composed. Great geometry and the exposure is great. You got a little reflective glow on the overhanging rock, which is a nice touch.

Good shot. I like the low light on the walls. The composition works for me.

I would pull up the shadows a bit on the left side of the face.

The balance of the sky is fine. Good work in post. To my eye, the shadow is distracting, but you have already addressed that in your comments regarding the time of day that it was taken. Compositionally, I would like to see more balance and symmetry(since that is what you were trying to achieve here). To top of the roof is seen on the right, but not on the left. Also, the brick wall intersects the right side of the edge of the shot lower than the left. You might consider bringing up the shadows a bit? I like the potted shrub on the bottom left and I'd like to see more of it.

Hi all,
I am an avid night photographer who primarily uses Canon gear for shooting nights capes and astrophotography. After a short hiatus I have just jumped back into Pentax with the K3 ii.
My very direct question: Does the Pentax DA 14mm 2.8 produce cometic aberration(COMA) on stars? Can you share your experiences?
Thanks! Brett Abernethy |

Hi all, I haven't been on the forums for a long time. I went over to one of the dark sides for a while.
I picked up a K3 ii and I am excited to try out a bunch of my vintage lenses on it to see how she purrs.
See you on the forums!

Ya, no kidding. Even if this video was intended for demonstration purposes only, I question what he was attempting to demonstrate. How not to clean a lens? How to destroy a lens? It's all funny really. I didn't find it helpful in any regard.

haha Some people don't really care about cosmetics right? In this case I thing alignment is an issue. Did he think you could just easy buy a replacement ring for the front element? lol

I laughed so hard hard at this video of a guy demonstrating how to open a 135mm lens for cleaning. From the beginning I cringed at his technique using the scissors - the thought of him jamming the scissors into his hand. if you are bored watching from the beginning you could fast forward to 4:05 where we see him with a bandaid on his thumb and a totally destroyed lens. I laughed so hard at this point. I recommend watching from the begginging as it really builds up to a climax. Youtu.be |

I've recently picked up a Bushnell 400mm M42 lens. Mint. Interesting enough it comes with a PK adapter. I haven't had a chance try shooting with it. I am wondering if anyone else has one and what they think. I searched the forum and found one other post in this thread but nothing other than that. Does the quality stand up? Thanks in advance.
