You know when I casually checked earlier I thought, you know, $3400.00 isn't too bad a deal. Then I checked again and I realize I forgot a zero, 34,000! I think Sigma would be lucky to sell this thing 10 times total in any year in any mount, especially since it has some excellent glass to compete with a relatively cheaper price point.

Agreed regarding the waste container and bench. I like the lamp, however, I think it's fine. Different strokes for different folks.

The tobacco filter is fun, yields an interesting storm or sunlight effect.

Taken with a K200D, 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 kit lens. I also used a Cokin graduated tobacco filter.

I like the contrasting colors, light, and shadows. Especially the green of the grass with the light against the hills and city with the darkness of the trees.

Thanks for looking.

(edited to reflect weatherwise's criticism about waste can)

Interesting posts so far. I just bought the Pentax 18-250 for traveling, should be here this week. Everywhere I looked the Tamron version was 50-100 dollars more expensive.

Couple o' Shots with the New Camera

All pictures were taken with my two day old K200D with the 18-55 kit lens. The first one and second one used a polarizing filter and lens hood. The third one is my girlfriend hamming it up in "Freak Alley" which is a sort of art exhibit (murals, graffiti, and other forms of pop art) in downtown Boise, Idaho. It was a great several hours.

This is my first DSLR. I love it so far and I've only broken the surface of what it's capable of. I really like the fact that I can just go out and shoot with no worries about film etc. Took over 250 photos in 3ish hours.

Just for fun here are a few more. The last two were shot by my girlfriend who's never done anything with a camera other than point and shoot. Trying to teach her what little I know, but she got some very interesting shots I thought.
