How about a review for the Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD (IF) instead? It looks like there's no shortage of people interested in doing one for the K-x.

Hi, I don't know what the trigger voltage is for this particular flash model but you should indeed be careful with non dedicated flash models. If the trigger voltage is too high, it can damage your camera. I'm sure you can find out what the K-x maximum allowed hotshoe trigger voltage is by going through the manual or googling it, then go from there.
Personally, the only way I would use a non-dedicated flash is off camera by using radio or optical slaves.

If you're serious about getting into studio photography, I'd invest in some decent gear from the beginning, i.e. AlienBees which are a Nashville based company. It'll save you money in the long run. If you end up losing interest in off camera lighting, you shouldn't have a problem selling them at nearly the same price you bought them. Unlike other budget minded lighting gear, AlienBees units keep their value. Their package deal start at under $300. I sent it off yesterday and also called their service center. She mentioned a 2 to 3 week turnaround so I'm hopeful.

Hi I hope I'm posting this in the correct folder. I recently bought the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 and noticed earlier this week that the aperture seems stuck wide open. I did some research on the net and noticed it happened to other users of the T 70-200 for K-mount as well. I have the 6 year warranty and was told to send it to their repair facility in NY state. Does anyone know what the turnaround time is for repairs, specifically the aperture issue? I'm wondering if they can fix it or send out a new item.
Any help appreciated, thanks in advance!

the Olive K-M is limited to 1,000 copies and will only be available in Japan. I'm thinking this is more aimed at collectors rather than outdoorsy types. I think it's great Pentax keeps releasing these limited edition body kits. This one looks also quite nice, too.

Hi,
I recently got a used Metz Mecablitz AF44-3P. Does anyone know if it is safe to use with a K200D? I'm mainly concerned about the trigger voltage.
I searched the internets but couldn't find an answer. Haven't heard back from Metz customer service either, so I was hoping to get some input from you guys.
thanks in advance,
DDE

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
K110D with DA 18-55mm AL and Sigma Mini-Wide II 28mm f/2.8 Asking Price
270.00 shipped Item Description
Camera is in like new condition and comes with original box (K110D and DA 18-55, I don't have a box for the Sigma Mini-Wide lens). Camera was purchased March 10, 2008 at a Ritz Camera store in Portland, OR (still have receipt) and took approx. 10,000 pictures since.
Reason for selling -- I just ordered a K20D.
The camera comes with the kit lens and a used but in good condition Sigma Mini-Wide II 28mm f/2.8 Macro lens (mf). The glass on the Sigma is in mint condition, but the barrel feels slightly loose. The aperture blades open and close smoothly. Also including all the original software and accessories that came with the K110D Kit.
I have two positive feedbacks here on Pentaxforums.com and 100% positive feedback (over 250 transactions) on ebay.com. I'm happy to set up a buy-it-now auction in the amount of $280.00 so I can recoup some of the listing fees (if you prefer to shop through ebay). Paypal only, unless you want to pick up here in the PDX metro area.
sorry for the poor quality pictures, I had to use my wife's p&s nikon. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

I was in Germany earlier this month and was surprised to see how many camera stores and large electronic chain stores carried Pentax equipment. Seemed to me like Pentax receives equal shelf space next to Sony and Olympus, while Nikon and Canon both dominated there as well.
Still, a potential customer here in the US has to order online or walk into a poorly-stocked camera store who only tries to push Nikon or Canon. When I got my K110D at Ritz Camera earlier this year, I had to ask four or five times before the sales clerk even let me lay my hands on it. When I decided to purchase the camera, I was told to come back the next day because he wasn't sure where the box was.
I wish Pentax cameras would be more readily available to play with at stores like Best Buy or Circuit City. It seems to me a majority of amateur shooters who switch to a DSLR system often are intimadated by the lingo and sales tactics of sales people and probably would prefer just playing with the camera right there and then.

I think it looks quite good actually. I would describe a pink camera as kitschy, but not this rugged looking little dslr. I guess I'm in the minority here.
