I must admit I like the vented hoods normally used on RF's such as this:

Lens Hood 49mm Tilted Vented for Leica M Summicron | eBay

If you want a more normal shaped one, try one of the older Pentax metal hoods from the Taks.

If it is any help, I probably have a 50/1.7A that could be used as a donor.

Failing that and bearing in mind you are in Ireland not the US, I know a couple of repairers in the UK who are up to Erics standard ;)

The rings fit round a 394 silver cell. also known as 380 or SR936SW. Just reuse the rings ;)

The 400 comes from the original number PX400. These were shaped. The replacement is the S400PX but don't waste your money. They are just 394 ready fitted with the collar.

I think you are being unfair.

I read the original thread and it seemed that it was turning more to a personal attack rather than "no straight answers".

Pentax did not "say" that the card should be given to you by the dealer. They said you should "consult" your dealer. B+H have explained the situation. I am in the UK. If I buy through a UK distributer and visit the US, I can get a card from Pentax USA which will enable me to get a repair done there under international warranty.

I think it would also apply elsewhere including Canada. If you buy from your own country, you get a full warranty. If you decide to buy from another country to save a few $, you don't.

Personally, I think that is fair especially in these days of the internet. Both Pentax and the dealers have to "protect" their market share from cheap imports or there would be no share and stores in any particular country would stop selling Pentax. Then the Pentax distributer would lose out and may have to close. It has happened in Europe.

Thank you for the kind words! I am working on an updated version hopefully adding some manuals in other languages as well.

No there is only 1 Superlite II flash. However, I initially came across 2 completely different manuals for it and then later on found a much longer and complete one.

What an AWESOME website ..... you have done well, I have added it to my "favourites".
With respect the Superlite II....you are saying there are two versions?
Also you are sying that version 11 has a different manual, but that there is also a combined manual? Which did the combined manual come out with?
Sorry to be off topic, but such a brilliant website!
Cheers, Pickles.[

The problem with finding "rare" items second hand is that very few people will "stock" them. You probably need to bookmark as many places as you can and just keep an eye on them. These should include sites from other countries as well.
