A*1200mm is a prime and *, but "only" has f8. Same for the A*600mm 5.6.
I think * are for fast lenses with use of special glas (ED, ...) and complex optical formula.
The 560mm is optical an easy design.

You can try the Sigma APO converters (1.4x or 2x).
On my DA*300, the Sigma 1.4x is better then the Pentax-A 1.4x, but without SDM-AF and LiveView.

Pentax 28-70mm f/4 vs kit lens?

The Pentax-F 35-70mm F3.5-4.5 is best of the three if you don't need 18mm or 28mm.
The AF of the 28-70mm 4.0 is extremly fast.

Comparisons between Bokina macro and Voigtlander 125mm?

I 'only' have the Tokina AT-X 90mm 2.5, the Leica 100m 2.8 APO and the FA 100mm 2.8 Macro.

The Leica is the sharpest 100mm lens I have. At 2.8 it outresolves the sensor of the K-5 (center and border). Aberrations are very good controlled, but the Sigma 180mm 3.5 is better in terms of bokeh fringing.

For bokeh the Tokina is the best.

With the dedicated close up lens (Elpro) the Leica goes to 1,1:1 without loss of sharpness or light (other than 2x extender).

I think a 150-300mm 2.8 with build in teleconverter (like the new Canon 200-400) would be an fantastic lens.

I normally don't use the lens for flowers, but I want to test the lens a little bit at the minimum focusing distance.
And I thought it would be interesting for you to see a 600mm in a not so common use.

It's not the A 400mm.

I made a little mistake with the distance of the second pic, it is more 5m than 15feet.
