I know they don't, but they should. This lack of any info just encourages people to jump ship. Well, the impatient ones anyway :p
I know quite a few photographers to put it mildly - Near all are talking about the fuji, or trying the fuji. The word pentax never gets mentioned.

I tried a gfx today with the 63/2.8
Absolutely hated it. Wanted to like it!
Body feels horrible. Clunky, awkward in hands. With & without grip.
Feels cheap. The 63mm also looks & feels cheap. It looks like a $400 lens.
Viewfinder blackout ridiculous.
Cancelled pre order.

I think 645z sales would be near frozen at the moment because of the gfx regardless..

if the guys at pentax had the slightest bit of brains they'd issue a press release saying "hey guys, 645z mk2 is in design stage. We expect to release more info in Q4 2017. Hold tight".

Always amused by people saying no need for f2 / f2.8 in portraiture.

it's actually really hard to pick a winner between the two.
The 80/2 performs pretty poorly at distance, but closer up it's really magic. Not the sharpest, but bucketloads of character.
The 110/2 is the better all round performer but it doesn't have the character of the 80/2 for close up people shots. It's still damn nice though!
I wouldn't want to give up either one. But if I had to pick I'd keep the 110, as it is more versatile and better optically.
the 80 is still VERY hard to use. If the fuji gfx gets an adapter for an 80/2 that'll be super hard to resist as an evf would make it a heck of a lot easier to use.

hey guys
I've had 3 of these rubbish fotodiox "pro" adapters. They always lose their lock on the lens over time.
The last straw was a moment ago when i twisted the focus ring and the lens came flying off the camera and onto the floor. Thankfully I was in my house so it just landed on carpet and no damage appears to have been done.
Can anyone recommend a really good solid adapter (Using a 110/2 here) that won't have a short life span. Or am I doomed to keep going through adapters?
cheers

Resolution aside, the (lack of) DoF on the larger sensor would have me running to the shops.
I'd love no crop factor on my lenses. I don't care if they are soft at the edges shooting people.

goodness.
ok, your 50/1.4 would be roughly covered by the 75/2.8 but you'll lose 2 stops. lovely lens though.
Your 200/2, probably the 150/2.8 pentax, which is a very nice lens but in reality the 200/2 will knock the pants off it. The 150mm is pretty soft at 2.8 and only really gets going at f/4 but I don't think it would ever rival the 200/2 for sharpness until f8-11 or so.
No idea on the 600 sorry. I suspect that would be better served keeping your nikon for (I presume) sports.
other suggestions, the 90/2.8 macro is a very expensive yet nice portrait lens. I don't own it but have tried it and very nice.
Lastly, if you don't mind stepping away from pentax and autofocus there are some really amazing lenses you can get going with adapters.
cheers

You know guys, I do get completely this mentality that you need to shoot raw, and then edit it to get the results. I really do, I shoot raw all the time.
But I gotta tell you, the Fuji inbuilt colours are really incredibly good. I use XT2's alongside my 645z and the fuji's just look great out of the camera. In lightroom you can switch between the various styles in the raw file, and often it's better than my own LR presets (that I've spent a lot of time making!!!). It's certainly a heck of a lot more consistent than my editing :)
I'm assuming it'll be the same on the gfx.

i use the 75 a lot in my wedding work. Close up, it can get seriously shallow dof.
A 200 would certainly be more flattering but a 75 does do a very good job (though looks comically small on a 645)

i found the 120 to have very harsh bokeh at distance.
I don't own the 90 but have used it. It's pretty clear the 90 is the better all round performer. I suspect the 120 would outdo it in resolving power up very close, but is that really needed for portraits?
The 90 would already pull in so much detail you'd probably be softening head shots later on anyway.

I'm certainly not saying this is right, but Canon also knock back water damage claims on weather sealed 1 series dslr's.

no it won't work with profoto (unfortunately)
The priolite strobes do work at faster than 1/125 - but I found them a bit buggy (6 months back).

Yeah. The Contax is seriously hard to use on the 645z. It's worth the effort as when you get it right it's amazing. When I first started using it my in focus percentage was crazy low. Now it's pretty decent. I think it'd be a lot easier to use on the fuji with a evf to allow 100% view when manually focussing.
That said, that lens would become even better on a larger chip. So I'd take the larger chip hypothetical 645z replacement over the Fuji any day. But if everything stays silent from pentax I'll be one of the first in line for the Fuji. No intention at moment of selling the 645, but who knows long term?
I agree with the guy above who wrote that pentax just needs to tell us what they are planning.

For walkaround personally for me it'd be between the 55 & 75.
The 55 is sharper, has more colour/contrast & better af.
The 75 has a bit more compression.
Hard call. I have both. I think if I was shooting people it'd be the 75, for anything else the 55.
The 90 is obviously superior to both but personally a bit long for a general walk around lens to me.

You know, pentax could make a lot of people happy if they said "hey we have that big chip from Sony, we'll get it in a updated 645z body in 6 months or so".
Personally, that'd make me stop from buying the fuji.

I really can't fathom what is going on at pentax. they just need to release a f/2 prime to keep the portrait/wedding crowd happy, and a ultra wide to keep the landscape guys happy. Then they'd have a very nice complete system of modern lenses, with a catalogue of older lenses to supplement it.
So say if they made a 23mm and a 110mm f/2, they'd have ;
- 23mm
- 28-45mm
- 35mm
- 55mm
- 90mm
- 110mm
All modern & all good performers. It's a complete system!

it's a fuji sensor. if it's remotely like the sensors they use in their smaller cameras it'll be great. I bet they nail the colours.
And yeah, stacks more lenses for pentax but massive variances in quality being very old.
My 35/3.5, 55/2.8 and 120/4 are very sharp. The rest of the ones I own aren't - not a big deal for me as a wedding guy but there are huge differences in quality between the various lenses you can put on a 645z. I would expect these 6 new fuji lenses would be a bit sharper & more consistent being new designs.
