Get out of your comfort zone by playing the forum "challenges". Each month, try something different, such as photographing rectangles or circles. One thread I joined was the Traveling Nifty Fifty. The 50mm lens has been in circulation since 2008. I had a go at it and it was really refreshing to use the lens in ways that only a 50 could capture. The lens is currently in Australia and is looking for new hands to send it to.

Thank you! When this started in 2008 a Flickr page was set up, but not a group so permissions have to be made to enter. Has this gone by the wayside?

I think I've done what I can in the 8 days I've had it. I will get it on its way within 2 days. Thanks for letting me participate. This was much fun! My pictures are here as I couldn't figure out how to post them in the thread - just lied. Ok, so I'm posting one here and the rest you can see in the link.

Congrats on the weddings! Since there's still a month to go, can Kriss send to me and I send to Outis?
The mountains here in TN will be popping with color soon and I've been waiting quite patiently. I PROMISE it'll get to you in plenty of time!
Unless, of course, I wasn't going to receive in the next week or two. I only planned on keeping it a week.

Thank you! I've seen them when the headphone jack, but it didn't say "K-50", so I was hesitant. Thanks for the tip on the app too. I'll explore that option for a remote.

I am seeking a compatible cable release for my K-50. I've looked for accessories on the Ricoh site as well on Adorama, etc.
Is there one available? It doesn't have to be a Pentax brand.

Sigma 24-70mm (65mm) f/2.8 IF EX DG Auto Focus Lens/Pentax not HSM
I'm new to Pentax and have been trying out/comparing lenses. I bought this on ebay last week with a no-return policy :o It has front lens cap, but is missing the rear cap. It is bayonet mount with "A" on the aperture ring, so it fits my K-50. This is a "meaty" lens.
It is in excellent condition and creates nice images as you can see from the photos. There are no dings, dents, scratches, fungus, or other cooties.
I bought this for $289.00 with a two-year Square Trade Warranty for $67.00 - it IS transferable - $356 total and if you purchase both, I will pay shipping in the U.S. Priority Mail 3-day. if you only want the lens, you pay shipping.

I'm a noobee, too, Dizz! My K-50 just arrived yesterday! I'm a pro photographer, but feel this camera is oodles better than my old Nikon D70s. The Nikon I wanted wouldn't tske my existing lenses, so I jumped ship.
You sound so happy!
