Shoot professionaly with Pentax?

No where in the thread did I say I was thinking of jumping ship.

The fact is I have bought a camera its a K200D had it before I ever posted this thread, and I love the camera.

Your are absolutely right I have only had the camera for about 2 weeks.

This thread had nothing to do with with me thinking about jumping ship in
any way. It was just a simple question as to whether pros use pentax as there
main or not. I have no intention of dropping my K200D. If I did need to have 6fps
they yes I would have to look at nikon or canon but that's not going to happen
because my main goal is landscape and portraits.

Well thats all good to know because I love me K200D. I feel alot more confident in going out and purchasing all the accessories, lenses that I can get.

Thanks

Some of the sarcasm post were pretty funny.

I have to agree if you are going to stick with a CRT then go with a flat screen.

Thats one of the main things that attracted me to pentax was the fact that you can virtually use all of the pentax lenses. When I was getting advice from the clerk at the camera store they said the same thing the pentax lenses are extremely good. One of the best things to know is that if I ever feel the need to upgrade my camera body to the latest one I know that all my current lenses will fit. One thing I am not looking at doing is being a paparazzi way to crowded and you are usually hated by people. As far as cameras go no that I know there are pros that use and love there pentax, I have now reason to change. I have a K200d and love the thing. its heavy, weather sealed, fits perfectly in my hand.

I agree, I will be switching to the imac with the 24" screen. Picture quality is amazing. My wifes father is a Pro photographer and he uses one. He said he would never go back to a PC.

I agree Sharko. I picked up a Soyo 19" wide screen for around $120. Not the top of the line but it shows the pictures realy well for what I need it to do.

I just want to make sure that if I invested in new lenses and other accesories and start shooting portraits or weddings in the future or go pro later on (after I practice and learn everything I can) I would not be wasting money with having to switch to Canon or Nikon. Which I realy don't want to because I like the look and feel of the pentax cameras.

You can still buy a CRT New? I been to alot of stores and have never seen a CRT for sale. I know you can go to a computer repair shop and pick them up for about $25 - $50. As far as what kind i'm not sure I had a NEC CRT along time ago and it realy sucked for pictures. So I bought a LCD.

Ya my wifes father is a pro and he only uses Nikon. I have yet to see a Pro use Pentax. What would be your opinion on using a K20D as a pro camera for shooting weddings and portraits?.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Just bought the Pentax K200D 4 Days ago and
can't put the thing down, I love it!. This is my very first DSLR only every used a PS
and never really used it. I was debating between Canon, Nikon, Pentax. Needless
to say my ultimate choice was the K200D with the 2 lens kit. Just waiting for the sun
to go down so that I can take a long exposure of the night sky. Can't wait!!
