Itīs a FF, so itīs more expensive and bigger than a APS.
I do not think Pentax thought about crop mode when they decided which sensor they would choose.
For me, K1 works well, but it takes time to process, and for example wedding photographers it's a no no no.
So why a K1II, and not a K1 super with a fast processor and for 3000 ?
K1 does not need a new sensor, but a faster processor.

Agred, but not in low light.
If there is a risk of low light, I will take K5IIs instead.
But now that I have K1 and recently bought a KP so. .... ---------- Post added 09-13-2018 at 11:15 AM ----------

Do you think there might be a new fimeware with dynamic pixel shift for KP?

Pentax has 3 APS cameras, so it's not entirely impossible that Pentax comes with a second FF.
But then it will be a more expensive camera with the same body, more Mp and larger buffer, etc.
With a new K3 in a year or so, a new 645 could be developed at the same time, but Pentax says nothing now because of the sale.
What I think is more interesting now is if K1 gets new firmware now when K1II is here and what happens with the warranty if you upgrade to K1II.

I tried to make an post, now I try to answer instead:
Interesting, I guess it's tricky to insert the lens so you might get the sharpness to the left (or right).
Went out yesterday and tried 07, took some pictures where a lensbaby probably had been better (no experience of it).
The driver worked well with 07.

As I see it, KP is Pentax alternative to APS mirrorless.
Battery life, it's like mirrorless cameras.
I've just try it with the little grip, maybe I buy it.

Some pictures from Stockhoms photo fair with DFA50.
I do not see any shutter shock with DFA50 on those few pictures, maybe due to the weight of the lens or the lens elements or groups in the lens do not vibrate.
The lens seems ready for production.
First 3 with f5.6.
And the last 3 with f1,4, one whole picture. Some parts within the depth of field.
Edit: The second last image is a 100% of the last image (the jacket appears to be in focus), Cashback is also 100%.

Yes, we are a collection of photographers here, none like the other.
Thought to show a picture, but ended up with photos from Expo 2015.
Here are some pictures (there are streets on Expon) on people, first a selfie.
Now I have to pay to upload more ...

1. If I can capture a soul in a street scene, I've probably taken an outstanding picture.
Perhaps other than Muslims may think I take their soul?
If anyone thinks I'll take their soul with my camera, I'll probably see it before I take the picture.
There is a difference in taking a soul or taking a picture of it.
2 Thats good, my dad did not teach me much.
K1 was my first camera without a fixed screen, it allows more discreet pictures and I can take pictures from a lower position so people are not taken from a high angle.
3 Ricoh GR allows you to shoot with pre-focus, for example, 2 or 3 meters. It allows you to take pictures very quickly, too bad that I do not live in a city.
4 Take the picture first and take the consequences later.
5 Yes, I need to take more pictures ....

About 20 years ago I went to a photoshop with Anders Petersen, I did not really know what I was going in to. It was a 5 day course, after the first full day we got the evening's task: take a pictures of your best property. Take as many Tri-X as you want, but submit them before midnight (develop at night and review in the morning).
It's about getting to know yourself first and taking pictures of strangers after.
Perhaps problematic to take pictures of people in Muslim countries where they can believe you take their soul Anders Petersen's best photograph: the denizens of Cafe Lehmitz | Art and design | The Guardian
Cafe lehmitz was in reeperbahn Hamburg Germany.

Yes, it should have WR, especially dust seal .:)
But after buying K1, I think that a thin folding screen would be very good in low position and for street photography.
And i do not say no to a KP sensor for 35 and 50mm crop.

I use level indicator almost every time. Before it was a pain when the water in a lake should drain away in one direction.

Keep 18-55 and see if you need a faster zoom, larger focal lengths or sharper zoom.
For landscape = Pentax DA15 / 4 (light weights) or Samyang has manual focus 14 / 2.8 and 16/2 or maybe a zoom.
For portraits = Pentax FA43 / 1.9, DA551.4, DA70 / 2.4, FA77 / 1.8 or Samyang 85 / 1.4 (manual focus).
A tripod.
For sports, I do not know, maybe Pentax DA55-300, Tamron / Sigma 70-200 / 2.8, Pentax DFA150-450.

The big Swedish photo magazine "Foto" started in the ~ 1930s, has used Hasselblads lab for lens test for decades (they test lenses, not a lens on camera).
At least on the test I've read, macro lenses has had poorer MTF on 1: 1, better at 1: 2 and best at infinity.
One exception is probably Pentax K 100/4 bellows.
Macro lenses can focus to 1:1 and also give a good sharpness of 1: 1, therefore a more complicated design.
The company that had "Foto" concluded that Foto did not fit into their assortment, so they "killed" the magazine 2-3 years ago.
Technical editor at Foto has started a site objektivtest.se
Here's a google translation on the test of Pentax DFA100 WR: Google Översätt
The MTF curves fell away in the Google translation: http://www.objektivtest.se/tester/pentax-d-fa-100-mm-f28-macro-wr-test/ |

New Q series lenses or cameras coming in 3-4 years or never.
A new K3 comes next years (i guess), but that can be the last top APS camera.
Ricoh focus on lenses to K1, lenses to APS has been low price zooms the last years (not for me).
So how many wants a top APS camera with only slow lenses?
I have request fast lenses for APS some years now, but the only wide one is DA14/2,8 that comes for 10? years ago . Not a 16/2, 18/1,7 or a normal as 28 or 30mm f1,2 or 1,4.
I love the limiteds, have all SMCs except 20-40zoom, but they are for "sunny days".
Now Fuji has fast lenses, but not sensor shake reduction yet. But they probable have in 2 years, and then why should i not go over to Fuji?
After some discussion and thinking i decides to buy a K1, That means i have a fast normal (FA50/1,4) and a moderate wide (FA35/2) and Manuel focus lenses as 16 fish eye, Tokina 17/3,5, Pentax K20/4 and K24/2,8, FA28-105 and a M 135/3,5, oh yes a FA43, FA77 and a F300/4,5. Perhaps i buy a DA200 and a DFA 28-105 the coming years, but thatsīs all.
I dinīt really want a K1 (to much weight and much more expensive) but it means i get a fast normal and a "fast" moderated wide that i donīt get in APS format from Pentax.
I think Ricoh want prestige cameras and donīt care about APS and especially Q series and the new lenses for FF are probably with many glass and a high weight and high price.
I started with Pentax 1977, i have been quite satisfied, but in 2 years i am probably going over to Fuji from Ricoh.

I think itīs a small market and Sony and Olympus has already occupied it. And if the market grow, the phone company's come up with their own solution.
"Na Horuk said
How about the other way around - smart camera with a phone function? In Q mount. I'd buy it. I wouldn't even worry about how people look at me as I lift a camera to my ear and start talking."
The camera company's did a mistake for 5-10 years ago, they let the phone companyīs take over the big compact camera market. I donīt understand why they didīt put in a simple or more advanced phone in some compact cameras. Perhaps 20% of today's smartphone owners should have a Pentax, Canikon and ... if only...
Yes I might bye a Q8 with a integrated smartphone that is just a little bigger than Q7. But that means that Pentax must come out with 2 or 3 Q models, one with a phone, one without a phone and hopefully one advanced model. But 3 different Q can be to much for Pentax?
I donīt now, but are a Richo GR Smart something for you?
I think that Richo can try with a WG6 Smart watertight to 10 meters, GPS, 4X zoom and smartphone. Active people out on adventure donīt want to carry so much so why have both a camera and a smartphone?

You also have DA35/2,8 Macro, very nice walk-around lens. and you could go in very close.
Sorry it was for #1
