I often use Raynoxes with DA 70mm , so I will answer accordingly
Here are some photos with those by the way Alper Alaca Photography : Photo Keywords : raynox dcr250 | SmugMug
No, just bump ISO
or TaV comes very handy with Raynox setups,
set shutter according to focal length ~1/60 , set aperture high , f/13 is good,
and leave ISO to body.
It is hard to work with it though, patience is required :)
You may have to use tripod or flash with ~200mm focal lengths. Quote: Yes
For 70mm , 250 gives magnificiation closer to true macro hence is for bugs, detail;
150 is good for close-ups, flora..
with 200mm ; Raynox 150 may be a better choice?
It does quite well actually, I was surprised with the bees photos when I tried the Raynox 250 first time.
It is very practical as you pointed, you turn a lens into a macro-like lens in a second. However it does not replace a true macro lens.
One who is keen on macro will eventually get a macro lens,
but Raynoxes are very handy and give satisfying results.

Thank you all : )
Yes, Sigma 30mm had been worthy inside, for both its focal length and large aperture.
those who cannot afford the FA31 may very well consider it.

DA*200 is very good at portraits. f/2.8 is nice too.
It is very usable handheld.
Some samples at the end.
I don't regret chosing DA*200 over DA*300 but I just want other one too :)
But I think if I had 50-135mm I would buy DA*300.
'Cos with DA*200 working distance is very long, I'd rather a 135mm for portraits.
On the other hand it is perfect for candids.-last sample- |

Thank you montman,
I am glad to listen to your advice on lens choice.
DA70-Sigma 30 worked great for portrait-indoors.
First shot was taken in the shadow in a very bright midday.
Ambient light helps a lot.

Because we have very brief official wedding procedure
"after-wedding" photo session would be more accurate : )
There were 2 pros,
I shot alone before they arrived and after they left; and with them while benefiting from setups they used.
I had 2 K20D bodies, one with DA70 and one with Sigma 30mm,
forum member Montman's advice was right on. It was very convenient to work with that setup. Thank you very much Montman : )
I also shot a few with DA15 and DA200.
Pros used Nikon D300 and flashes.
They fired flash with every shot, even for graduated-lighted near window conditions, which I think ruins it.
Flash was firing like the modelling mode in AF360, not sure what it is and what for?
Outcomes are better than I expected.
I thought after like
1- I don't need FF -as an amateur those results are enough for me.
2- I could use more ISO, I barely -can- use over IS0800 with K20D.
someone said K-5? : )
enough said.
1. DA70 f/2.4
2. DA15 f/6.3
3. DA70 f/2.4
4. DA70 f/2.4 men are in the mood : )
5. DA200 f/2.8 I definitely need to use that lens more often
6. DA200 f/4
7. DA200 f/3.2
8. DA70 f/2.4
9. DA70 f/2.4
10. Sigma 30mm f/1.4

16. Sigma 30mm f/1.4
17. Sigma 30mm f/1.4
18. DA70 f/2.4
19. Sigma 30mm f/2
I am very curious what outcome had the pros get off with using flash under that condition.

Shoot not only landscapes but medium-range (like street or people) and close ranges.
You may see more clarity. |

I have both.
They both are great, so it really is a matter of focal length choice.
For me, 15 works better for landscapes and 21 for people, although I have some nice shots say vice versa :)
Let's say generally then.
That aside I am more impressed with the DA15 for its built and outcome.

I could not yet : ) but I said it is possible because it has HSS -high seed sync- so you can go further 1/180s,
which Pentax AF160 flash does not have and it is a deal breaker for me.
Also it can go down to 1/64 power, which Pentax AF160FC can go 1/16.
low power is also good for fill-in flash and when one wants to preserve background.
I use the flash on Pentax 100mm WR and my friend on Sigma 105mm. It is Sigma 105mm and Sigma EM-140 combo my friend using in the previous picture I added.
