Tips and tricks for Mirror lenses

I will echo the comments from above...hand held shots are very tricky unless you are prepared to bump up the ISO to get a nice fast shutter speed. Also the contrast compared to other lens types will be poor. I always shoot RAW and then you have plenty of leeway to play around with image at processing stage.

Don't discount a mirror though as they can be great fun to use and can give some acceptable results - here are some from my MTO 3M5A 500mm lens...all hand held...

The famous 'seawall' at Teignmouth, Devon, where the railway has to battle the elements....

Also gave me an excuse to try my new Tamron 70-200mm F2.8, and it's turning out to be a cracking lens.

on the 100th anniversary of the start of the Battle of the Somme it seems appropriate to post this image.

Even in our small village, 3 of the names on the memorial were killed in the Battle including one who was killed on the first day of the slaughter... :(

Caught this image of my daughter getting to grips with using a manual focus 50mm with her K5 - she is hoping to study both film and digital photography at 6th form, and seems to have a good eye for composition and photography in general...:)

having now had a few weeks with the 7artisans 25mm f1.8 lens, I can really say that its a great little lens for the low cost and for anyone looking for a fairly wide angle option for fuji mirrorless..

The medieval towers of the ruined church of St Mary at Reculver, they were added in the late 12th century to a church founded in 669, when King Ecgberht of Kent granted land to Bassa the priest for the foundation of a monastery.

whilst on holiday I tried out an old M42 mount Pentacon 50mm f1.8 lens that came as part of a bundle that I was given - I have never used any M42 lenses on my K3 so stuck an adaptor on and started shooting..this lens is a bit 'fluffy' at f1.8 but at f2.8 it seems to give a nice effect....
