Wow, you had basically my dream lot for a manual focus Pentax system. I do have the "M" version of a few of those lenses though...

Hah! Even if you just slapped a label on the back cover and shipped it without a box, it'd have probably made it alright. :D
I dropped my camera bag off about a 10' rock ledge once (not intentionally). A UV filter on it was busted all to hell, but body and lens made it through alright.
I came across an eBay auction years ago where somebody was selling a K1000 with a dented prism cover - somebody tried to mug him so he used the camera as a weapon. The mugger apologized, handed the wallet back and ran. The camera continued to function just fine.
I dug my K1000 out the other day and went wandering around downtown and midtown Atlanta with it. Took a lot of pics at the aquarium, really felt weird looking around and realizing I'm the only person with a film camera, much less one totally mechanical.

News to me, mine's never needed that... just punch it once and rewind.

We appear to have a heavy Atlanta contingent here.
Is there anything going on in this area?

That thought has crossed my mind, but I realize it's a pipedream unless full frame DSLRs get cheap enough that I could cannibalize one for parts and make my own.
I do have some electronics know-how....
By the button that releases the finder, do you mean the button on top (which does not actually release the finder), or the little "switch" around it that you push sideways? Mine has the shutter release lock like yours, the 3200 ISO dial, and the button on top turns the meter on (but not the lever that releases the finder). I suspect that any LX that has been through a Pentax servicing with a ISO 1600 dial got it replaced with an ISO3200 dial. Just my suspicion....
And as to the comments about the viewfinder... YES, it is awesome. Even with the basic FA1 viewfinder on it. You want to talk about a huge viewfinder, put the FB1/FC1 combo on there. :D

Super Takumar 50/1.4 (mangled filter ring though, otherwise nice). Included a perfectly functional Spotmatic F. Snagged for me by my sister, $20 total from a yardsale.
THREE SMC M50/1.7s for $30 from a guy I met at a flea market. Yes, three. One damn near minty, other two in excellent shape. Sold two on ebay and more than doubled my money, still have one lens left over.
One SMC M40/2.8 with box, a ME SE body with light leaks, and a hoarde of random junk all in one big bag - ~$30 via ebay. When money got tight, I let somebody else get a DCL - I unloaded the M40 for $100 to another Pentax enthusiast on another list.
Less than super cheap, but I still consider them bargains...
One SMC M135/3.5 - $40 from a guy on another Pentax list. I later found it wouldn't focus to infinity and managed to disassemble, re-index the focusing helix, and reassemble. It's one of my favorite lenses.
One SMC M50/1.4 - About $58 from the shop I got my LX from.

Indeed. Why do you think I can't afford to blast away tons of film? :p

Yeah, I saw that one. I had already watchlisted it, but unless it's stupid cheap in the last few minutes I probably won't even bid. That flash would be nice though...
I'd not mind having a second LX... though I'd like to have an MZ-S.
And I'd not mind replacing my craptastic 2mpix digital with an *istDS or similar. It'd not be much bigger than that old piece of crap if I put the Limited DA40/2.8 on it. Almost pocket-sized.
As much as I like film, I can't afford to use it willy-nilly for everything.

Straightshooter - I'd never seen an LX until the day I picked mine up. I can recall only seeing one more since... another shop listed one on their website so I decided to drive down and look at it. It looked nice, but had the sticky mirror issues which would have added about $150 or so to the price to have it serviced.
I wouldn't mind getting a second LX someday. I keep eyeing what's on ebay from time to time. MZ-S would be a good'n too.

Yep, I've got one too... so does my mom... so does one of my sisters... another of my sisters has two of 'em.
That's right, FIVE K1000s within the immediate family. No longer all under one roof though...
Damn fine camera, it's never let me down. It has a place in my bag next to my LX. :D

You lucky dawg.
You got that LX for peanuts then you turned around and got a 31ltd?? Geez.
I lust after the green star and Limited glass, if only for its blingtasticness... I'm not worthy!!! *bows*
I do own one piece of green star glass though...

Maybe the search is broken then. :hmm:
Oh, and a NOS LX for under $200... yeah, what a farkin' bargain. Mine's no prize cosmetically and I considered it a deal - it was around $250.
I got mine via ebay from a shop in an adjacent state about 4 years ago, used it for a year before some issues sprang up at which point I sent it to Pentax in Colorado and had it serviced. It's been a good one since.
Mine's got the older style shutter release lock, but it has the ISO3200 setting of newer ones - either a mid-production body, or an older one that was upgraded at some point.
Also have the FB1/FC1 finder in addition to the FA1 and a winder to help get the shot quick!
For such an old camera, it continues to amaze me with its abilities and how well thought out it is.

Are Plustek film scanners worthwhile? They are certainly appealing from the standpoint of price. The Plustek Opticfilm 7200 looks like a winner at a glance. $160 ain't bad...

Strange... I come to a Pentax-specific forum with apparently reasonable activity in the film bodies section, yet no mention of the LX? Nothing came up in a search, anyway...
LX users unite, I say to the empty room...
Jon, LX-toting Pentaxian.
