Thanks for all the comments

:)

Thanks for your critique, will definitely keep it in mind next time we have an ant infestation :lol:
This was taken with natural light. Unfortunately, the ants were converging at at a corner of a room hence the lack of light at the upper left. I have more photos with tighter composition and may upload it later today.

K5 II - any major issues?

I've only had one issue with the k5iis.
The camera became unresponsive when I half-pressed the shutter button. The red focus confirmation box and the top lcd were lit up and wouldn't turn off. Pressing any buttons and turning the camera off did not do anything.

I had to remove the battery and after that, everything was fine.

I could not replicate the issue..

Is the K-5 IIs dangerous...

I don't know about nude photography, with the camera's inherent issue with moire, stretchmarks and wrinkles would be quite problematic.

**SCOFF** moire issue.
I've taken almost 1500 shots with the K5IIs and none of my shots are worse than the K7. And as a street shooter, I've been predominantly shooting clothed people :o

I have to say, I'm getting a LOT more keepers with the FA50+K5iis than the K7 and K10D.

From DCW.

Now I've got to go to Bunnings and buy black tape and a silver texta.

Gotta disguise the k5 as a k7 so the missus will not notice

guess where I got my DA15 from? DCW! :o
The shop in Northcote didn't have stock so they had to fly in one from Sydney, great price too, better than getting from bhphoto or adorama. But yeah, seems like they never have stock!

I was hoping to have the k5iis this weekend.. oh well, I guess I can wait for several more days.

I've previously bought a camera from Michael's (Panasonic LX3) which they pricematched against DCW  DCW didn't have any stock.

edit: what about Ted's, Camerahouse or JBHiFi?

As of yesterday, Michael's have one in stock.

Let me know what you find out during your expedition ;)

I'm keen on getting the k5iis.. but only if it matches the DCW price!

It's probably flickr, but the oversharpness is a bit off-putting.

Dodgy as in everything is soft. I think the sensor might have shifted or the AF totally carked it. Even when I'm using manual focus with focus confirm beep, the shots are soft, almost like someone smeared a thin coat of vaseline on the sensor. [edit: yes, I've used the micro adjustment but to no avail]

I've been using my K10D and the K7's been sitting in the cupboard for the past 5 months :hmm: I'm glad I purchased a 5 year extended warranty!

I just wish the shipment gets here soon.

My k-7's focus has been dodgy and will have to get it serviced.
A K5IIs would be a great 'backup' body
