I would clean the glued surfaces. Make sure all old glue has been removed. Then use fast settling epoxy 2 part glue to re-attach....Try to end up with the same layer in order to prevent focus misalignment.
Another option is strong thin double sided tape. I know the mirror of some Ricoh slr's haven been attached that way. You can check focus before permanent fixation. After checking focus you can put some fast settling epoxy 2 part glue at the point where mirror holder and the mirror meet. (Mirror in up-position).

Your only option is the D-BG7 grip. However with 2 big D-LI90 batteries I wouldn't miss the AA-batteries....

True...but again this differs form the advise I responded to which was to clean contacts before each outing. Never mind, each to its own...

This advise, which I fully support, differs from the advise I responded to. I try to keep my equipment as clean as possible by using the designed protection. My advise would be just that and not clean it if it isn't necessary.

I've never cleaned the contacts, lens body or battery. I have acquired the K10D, K3, KP and K1 II new as soon as they came out. No issues at all....

If you use one focus point and know how to point, anticipate and press the shutter at the right moment, you'll get pin sharp shots with a K5 or any other Pentax DSLR.
One reason I don't want a camera system that does al the work, is the reward you get when YOU made a perfect shot and not the camera....

I recently acquired a Rondinax 35U. Used this daylight tank many times decades ago. It works amazingly good, requires only 200 cc of developer and all can be done in daylight. I've got my cameras loaded with film waiting for the weather to clear. I also ordered a Pentax auto bellows A with a slide copier to digitize my film...

Exactly how I feel about this advert...
It even made me long for "the old days", although I'm not that old...
Modern is not always better. Today's world is....superficial......to say the least.

Carefully put a drop of isopropyl alcohol where hood and barrel meet. Make sure the drop does a 360. Then try again.
When turning with both hands you slightly de-form the hood. Try to put the lens upside down on a grippy sheet of rubber or a rubber mouse pad (hood down) then twist the barrel while putting pressure downwards, forcing the hood into the rubber sheet.

It is the 150-450mm that shows more play. Just tested with a D FA Macro 100mm WR and a D FA 24-70mm Play is barely noticable...(On a K1 mkII)

I noticed the same with my 150-450mm. Had it sent to Pentax for another issue which they fixed. I also mentioned the free play but the lens came back in the same state....
The rotation is too much in my opinion, however I never had the feeling that it caused an issue. It just feels weird, especially whilst mounted on a tripod.

Did you try to clean the rubber paper feed rollers (pick up rollers) with rubbing alcohol?

Great to see your twist to the solution. Indeed no soldering required now. How long can you operate your K1 with this setup?
