Congrats to the winners (gbl's and Cipher's photos were my picks, too), and thanks barondla for the freedom to post anything, or I would not have been able to participate, NBD, but hey! lol

Voted today, pins and needles time...

OK, the winner is: gbl, I kept going back to that stunning photo of mountains and lake, about 350 miles north of my hometown. Second place winner is a tie between Bart and Titia, love their 3rd photos in each. 3rd place goes to barondla for his originality, and hope things open up for you to enjoy life! Once again, thanks to all for participating during these difficult times. Can't wait to see what gbl comes up with in the next contest!

Nice set, Bart! I had to look up the camera, a compact point and shoot from 2008, really like the detail in the wheat, last pic. Care to share the processing? It is getting more and more difficult, the judging...
Thanks for sharing your new life during this pandemic...I've become inured with wearing a mask, and am wondering if this will be "de rigueur" for the un/forseeable future. I'm not a crowds person, but I do like and
miss having a choice.

I hear you, *sigh* Iwakuni had their own brand of reishu (in clear glass bottle with white-blue-silver label, exquisite). Wish I had a couple of cases of that...

Nice, kwb, I miss Japan, too! Sazae was a fave or grilled black tiger shrimp with sea salt and cracked pepper both with reishu for the drink. Five years at MCAS Iwakuni and 2 years at Sasebo...I have a friend that works for the state department that has a job in the Tokyo area, lucky stiff. If a certain person doesn't get re-elected we plan on a trip to Cuba next year, fingers x'd. And no, I don't want to launch into a political discussion, please.

Point and Shoot Competition #149 - Things you miss the most

A little shaken over the explosion in Beirut, I was there 18 Oct - Nov 8, 2017. Hoping everyone here is safe!

I wanted something that will give great and wide license to creativity during this new reality that we are living in. What you miss the most could be just about anything, if you've become a diabetic, it could be an ice cream sundae, if you miss live theater take a picture of your favorite venue. A brief caption is a must to explain your choice in pictures.

Rule 1: Always have fun!

Rule 2, Cameras:
Grand rule is that a qualifying camera should be compact, and let's say fit in a pocket of some garment you own or have owned at some time, and some pockets are bigger than others! I'm not getting out a tape measure...
As far as the grand rule is met,
Fixed-lens cameras regardless of the sensor size and medium (digital or film) qualify.
Digital interchangeable lens cameras with the sensor size equal to or smaller than 1" qualify, but no "adapted" lenses are allowed.
Mobile phones, tablets and any 110 film cameras are allowed.
Rule 3, Submission details:
Entries will close on August 31, 2020 midnight CDT.
Enter up to three images, however you may change your entries as many times as you like up to the contest closing date/time.
List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.
No restrictions on when the entries were taken.
Judgment will be based on the pictures displayed in the forum, and the maximum image dimensions displayed are 1024x768 (ish) pixels. You could link to a larger sized image hosted elsewhere, but that larger image won't be used for judgment.
Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.
Looking forward to seeing your pictures!!!

Wow, I didn't expect to win at all, I logged in to see who to congrat, and came upon this surprise. John and Bart, thanks, fellas, and kwb special thanks for your comments. That photo was a spur of the moment thing and of course they were completely oblivioius to having their picture taken. Now I need to come up with this month's contest subject, hmmmmmm.

Great entries, always enjoyed this competition and it still is fun! Miguel, thank you for your kind comments. I clicked on your link and was wowed by your work, kudos!

My congrats also to MiguelATF and a nod to the others that participated. That photo of you sitting in the road...the summer of '97 I was driving from Fallon, NV (where they moved Top Gun) to my hometown of Sandpoint, Idaho (on leave) and was going thru SE Oregon where there were no speed signs ;) I stopped in a small town for breakfast that specialized in Basque cooking, mmmm good. Beautiful state, Oregon, I was born in Portland :)

Tuco, thanks for the kind words. I like Thornton's with T-grain films shot at box
speed:

TMAX 400, 5+5 @20C

This is with a Mamiyaflex C2 and old chrome 3.5/105 Sekor lens, not in the same
league as your Hassy, but gives usable results.
