Thank you, I think I have a can of compressed air somewhere, I'll try that first.
Here are a few more pics from the weekend. As usual, reduced in size, but no sharpening or other enhancements. All at maximum aperture.

I'll have a look at this thread.
I think the Squirrel blur is because the feeder was swinging and not in sunlight.
The only CA I have noticed is a tiny amount of purple fringing. Really nothing too bad.
I keep meaning to sort the sensor out. I assume its dust. I can't remember how to 'shake-clean' it, I'll have to read the manual.
Thank you for your continued interest.

Another test shot:
16% crop. ISO 800 - f5.6 at about 20ft. I was at ISO 800 because it was lateish and the light was going.
No sharpening or any trickery, I've just reduced it to 72dpi.

Hi. Sorry, I haven't been to the bird hide yet. The sun is never strong when I'm free. We'll have another go early next week, weather permitting.
I grabbed this Goldfinch out of the bedroom window. It was about 100ft away. (I've reduced the file to 72dpi and 90px wide to post it here)

I've done some testing but the sun has mostly been hiding on the occasions when I've had time.
Overall I'm as pleased as I'd hoped/expected.
My main lens has ben a 200 2.8 DA* and I don't think the 560 is QUITE as perfect as that. (The 200 2.8 makes my heart sing!)
But I'm really waiting for a clear sunny day to get down to my favourite bird hide and burn some film... sorry, expose some sensor.
I'll upload a pic or two here but don't expect anything exciting... They're both reduced in size to 72dpi and 900px wide.
The chimney shot is handheld but pretty sharp - ISO 100 f5.6. It shows some purple fringing but none of the vignetting that people have mentioned. I like the fact that on the full-size pic, you can see two flies sunbathing.
The cat pic was taken with the camera rested on the bedroom windowsill at ISO 400 f5.6. If he'd had a flea in his ear, you'd be able to count its legs.

The back should be OK ta. I have a stainless steel and titanium spine (true story).
In bird hides I can rest on the 'windowsill' but otherwise I'll break out the old monopod that I used for motorcycle race photography back in the days of 100 ASA slide film.
Looking forward to it. ---------- Post added 10-04-17 at 02:49 AM ----------
Thanks. I'll be fine tuning the AF as soon as the sun comes out, then finding out what it can do. ---------- Post added 10-04-17 at 02:53 AM ----------
Thank you. I'll find out when the sun shines.

...and back to the subject:
My 560 has arrived from SRS.
It's huge.
It was almost dark so I just tried it at ISO 1600 to see if it works.
Serious testing and AF fine tuning in the next few days.
PS. It weighs a ton.

Bit surprised that they're offering 15% off something they haven't got and haven't had for weeks and can't say when it will arrive.
Rather takes the shine off the deal.
