I don't think there is anything wrong with the white balance of the camera. I do mostly panoramics myself and use a K20D. I think the reason for the inconsistent white balance you have is the light actually changing between exposures. When shooting panoramics the changing light is one of the most difficult things to deal with. The camera is much more sensitive to the changes in light than your eyes. I believe that even those thin clouds would have that effect on exposure and white balance as you see in your images. As long as the clouds move during the shoot that is. My guess is that you should be able to stitch those images into a nice panorama with invisible seams anyway. A software like Photoshop Elements 6 Photomerge function would probably do a good job with it.
You could try shoot the same set of images on a perfectly clear day to see if you have the same inconsitent result.

I would like to see the following in the next DSLR from Pentax
Full frame.
Autobracketing with mirror lock up without mirror flipping between exposures.
Live view without mirror flipping in manual mode
Everything else on my K20D if fine

With the K20D you don't need to hold the shutter release down while shooting, just one short press will do. I've tried with 2" mirror up as well and it works the same.

Thanks for replies.
I usually switch the camera off. The K20D remembers all settings so it's really not a problem but sometimes I simply forget to switch it off that is when I want to be sure the battery is not dead when I take it out again. No part of the bag touches any of the buttons that can turn the camera on. But it could be that when I tuc the strap in it was above the top of the camera and perhaps the strap then touched the shutter release button. I have rearranged the bag so that I must tuc the strap in at the bottom of the camera. The only way to tell the camera is on is the position of the switch is on. No battery symbol is visible.

Yes, and one press is all it takes.

A Swedish distributor has a Pentax cable release "cs-205". It looks like the third party releases but this one has the Pentax name on it in the picture.
I do HDR all the time too. The great thing with the K20D is that you can do a set of bracketed shots with only one press on the shutter release. But I wonder why the mirror has to go up and down for each shot. Wouldn't it be great if it would stay up when you combine mirror up and autobracket?

The only three buttons that can wake the camera up from stand by seem to be the shutter release, the play-back and the Info buttons. I let the camera go into stand by and put it in the bag and closed the bag. Then opened the bag again to see if the camera was on but it wasn't. I'll leave it on but on a table over nigth to see if it does the same again.

Hi,
I'm new to the forum. Just registered today. Partly because I have not been able to find an answer to my question below anywhere.
I have a K20D since June. I have it set to auto off after 3 minutes. A couple of times I have forgotten to switch the camera off and it has been in the bag over night. The day after the battery has been empty. Is this normal? How long can I expect the battery to last when the camera is in standby mode? Does anyone have any experience with this?
I also have a K100D which I on several occasions have left switched on in the bag for several days and I have been able to use it after.
