Hello,
I submitted this question to the B&H customer service email twice in the last no weeks, but never got an answer. Perhaps if I post it here we might get some sort of resolution :) Here is the original email:
I purchased a Pentax-Ricoh Extended Warranty (ADVWARRANTY_ADVILC) for a Pentax K-1 Mark II on February 6. My order # is xxxxx. I tried to register the warranty with no success, and I’m having some doubts about its validity. Here’s my story:
The Front cover of the warranty brochure that I received (see image Pentax_Front) says to “Register your warranty online at www.riconimaging.com/extendedwarranty” or call 1-800-877-0155. I tried to register online, but that didn’t work because it was the old email address for Pentax. They are no longer Home - Ricoh but now are at us.ricoh-imaging.com. FYI, the warranty card that I received had a copyright of 2014 on the back (see Pentax_Back image). Does this mean that I have an old warranty?
I then called the 1-800 number and spoke to a woman at Pentax, and she tried to explain to me that this was a third party warranty offered by B&H. She said that if I needed warranty service after the first year, that I would have to send the camera to B&H and that B&H would send it to Ricoh at Precision Camera. I tried to explain to her that the warranty (see Pentax_Page1 image) was provided by Ricoh Imaging Corporation of Denver, CO…. to which she replied that they have not been in Denver for years and that they are now in Connecticut and that I must have a third party warranty and that I should contact B&H. We went back and forth for a few minutes, with the outcome being that Pentax does not offer extended warranties (even though I seem to be holding one), and that this is a B&H warranty that they would indirectly honor if the camera was sent by to them by B&H. I also mentioned that adorama.com also sells the same exact warranty….She didn’t seem to care.
So here I am B&H, asking you what you know about this warranty. Is the warranty card that I have valid ? Is it an old obsolete warranty ? Is it third party ? If it is valid, then how do I get repairs (and the free check-up) from Pentax.
I am very confused. Any assistance here would be very much appreciated.

I've been reading the forums for a while but have never posted. I'm a long time Pentax user starting back in the mid-70's with 35mm, then 6x7 format and now we're 99% digital. Boy how things have changed since the K1000 :)
