New Glass for P30t

Well guys, I do appreciate the advice. A couple I was already figuring to purchase, namely the 135mm with a nice fat aperature, the 50mm with a nice fat aperature. I am thinking I will stay away from the Phoenix/Phenix (I've seen both spellings) lenses as well. I have never heard from anyone using them.

I will explore the wide angle lenses. These are sorely lacking in my arsenal.

I am also thinking to buy a K1000, or another camera as well.

I tend to shoot in manual exposure all the time. If I use any auto function, then it is set on the Program Mode and basically I am taking snapshots of the kids at a party. But this is rare. Even on the K10d I own, it rarely ventures to any mode but manual.

My sister in law works at a camera store and knows my love for Pentax. And she knew I had one already... with lenses.

She still tried to sell me a Canon.

I like to shoot people, landscapes and whatever interesting buildings I see whenever I am walking around. I like Macro Photography, but I like to use the k10d for that. I recently went to a car show, and ended up with a bunch of pictures of hot rods, mainly because I liked the way they looked.

I have a P30t, and I enjoy it as well as my K10d. (And Argus C3 Brick) I am looking for some new lenses. I am sure I could spend several days looking through the various threads for adequate opinions about lenses I should buy. However, I would like to ask some of you two questions. The first, have you used any lens made by Phenix. Secondly, if you wanted to purchase three lenses for your film camera what would they be. What would be the ideal set (without going broke).

Right now I am looking at the Canon G9. It would fulfill my needs quite nicely; however it would be nice to see one with better manual controls.

I would like to see Pentax make one. But I am only one person.

Gee... you mean I can make everyone pretty with the touch of a button. I would rather take a less doctored photo, and press a button and have everyone changed into competent drivers.

Besides the many good ideas already posted, I would like Pentax to continue to make a nice beefy DSLR for my big hands. They can also make a smaller DSLR for people with more normal sized or even girlie hands.

How about a nice upscale digicam with capabilities similiar to the Canon Powershot G9? And since it will be Pentax, they can incorporate all of the durability my K10d has as well. I would buy one to carry every day.

Does anybody actually buy gear at Wolf/Ritz?

Every since Chuck Wolf sold out to Ritz, the stores seem more like Radioshack to me. You know, walk in, ask for something and the clueless teenager looks at you with complete confusion.

However, I must admit, having a relative in there makes it very hard to NOT to go to Ritz or Wolf. Besides, this relative has informed me that all I have to do is ask and they will order for me.

By the way, I stopped talking to most of the individuals who work there, except my relative and one other.

Difference Between Pro & Hobby

How new am I? This is my first post on a photography based forum.

However, I proudly shoot as a hobby. I do not wish to be paid (although an occaisional piece of gear for a present would be nice). Maybe even a contest. Yet I do not wish to change one set of demanding clients and deadlines for another. I would shoot a friend's/family member's wedding, doing my best, but demand they get someone with those particular skills. I doubt I would even accept expenses. I would help myself to the bar.

I have been shooting off and on for over 20 years, and like a weekend touch football player, I can watch and appreciate the pros, get in my car on Monday and go to work. When the dust settles, I can still consider myself a photographer.
