i got 2 for macro.. reversed/tube Schneider xenoplan 23mm f 4 machine vision lens... macro yashinon 60mm f 2.8. 1:1 ...extreme macro with reversed xenoplan. covers everything. --16mm...2/3rds lens-- in 23-25mm is the equivalent of about a 90mm lens....per say in normal 35mm terms. reversed the act differently. u get q quality and the same depth of field multiplied by the q sensor crop factor.

epoxy a m42 lens cap to d-mount adapter(thinner the better). add m42 12mm helicoid. use a 1 inch hole cutter to widen the d-mount/ m42 cap.(it fits ive done it) remove the auto 110 mount from the adapter. epoxy the auto 110 mount to a m39 or lower m42 adapter ring. macro done. now u can use any of the auto 110 lens for macro.

2.35:1 foveon sensor with q pixel density = over 30MP anamorphic still images from such a tiny sensor.. the only problem atm is that the q uses such a small area through glass. er basically means q needs more glass.
that would destroy bmpcc...sorry ppls

-16 mp foveon sensor that makes q 02 standard zoom ~17-20mm. (start)
-2.35:1 sensor
-10mm helicoid flange focal reducer that ties into the q system and u can select a mount to attach. the focal reducer adjusts the lens elements inside the focal reducer to each flange focal distance. ...holy hell im a genius ^^ (flange focal reducer element helicoid inside a 10mm helicoid)
-efv in the place of the flash shoe. !!!NOONE WILL CARE IF ITS A LITTLE BIT BIGGER!!!
-move the flash shoe to the left and make a universal micro flash that fits any shoe and pops up just like the q flash. (when u slide the q flash switch)
above flash i think is one of the only things that does not exist in the mirrorless market. universal micro flash that would function like the q flash and work on any hotshoe. holy hell!!

this tells u all u need to know about 35mm equivalents for different sensor sizes =D
pentax q is 1/2.3" ~7.66mm diagonal
16mm film is 2/3" ~11mm diagonal
micro 4/3 is 4/3"
if u want to convert other film formats use Pythagorean theorem. h*h + w*w square root = diagonal. for instance half frame 18*18 + 24*24 sqrt...= 30mm diagonal. half frame diagonal 30mm divided by pentax q diagonal 7.66mm = crop factor. crop factor determines the multiplier u will use to get the used camera focal length with the other camera lens.
40mm half frame lens will be equal to 157mm lens on the pentax q. =D
40mm half frame lens will be equal to 55mm lens on m4/3 35mm Equivalent Focal Length Calculator https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_sensor_format |

c-mount 1"-32tpi
d-mount .625"-32tpi
think above is right
sankyo 8-cm 10$ on ebay
...i fell for the same thing.. sankyo 8-cm is a 8mm camera that actually uses d-mount to attach the front "zoom" part of the lens to the camera. sadly if u look inside the camera there is another lens group. this is the back part of the lens that is needed to allow the cam to focus.
both are removable unscrew yes...the hard part is u will need a digital caliper with the depth gauge part. remove both lens groups. reattach the mount for the visible(outside) one. u measure the distance from the mount for the visible one to the top of the mount for the internal lens group. write it down measure 10 times. then remove the mount for the visible one and measure the distance from the top of the flange for internal lens group to the film plane. these are the important numbers here.
next u would have to fabricate an attachment that would facilitate the screwing in of the internal lens group and the external one. the best way i could come up with this is a metal block that u could screw into a 8mm d-mount adapter for pentax q. maybe retap the d-mount adapter for 1-32tpi if the internal lens group is big.
in alot of cases the internal lens group is actually a doublet or triplet prime. u actually can use it alone as a lens =O i actually created a rudimentary mount for the internal group and took pictures. anyways focus the internal group first then the zoom part.

wider panoramic foveon sensor that makes standard prime effectively a 17mm or 24mm lens ^^ © Q Pan © making the q a 27 megapixel panoramic powerhouse that would rival bmpcc =)
that would sell like hotcakes!!

instead of a flip screen why not waist level finder?? i am not interested in a selfy cam... this solves both of paulcote just stated above ^^.
move the flash shoe to the left side and pop a waist level finder on top in the middle =D (exakta style) put the pop out flash on the left side of the camera. so that the flash pops out perpendicular to the left side of the camera. there would be a rounded bulge on the left just as it is on the right. (this is all from a perspective looking at the back ofc)
another choice is to allow the current flash shoe pop up and have waist lvl finder underneath. =o

the q does not need a larger sensor it needs Foveon X3 panoramic sensor. ^^ put the bmpcc in the ground. bmpcc glitches are just too much. take the 02 standard zoom "from 27mm" and make it start at 17/19mm. everything out there that high dollar amount atm is promoting panoramic...if pentax jumped on that market with something that had 3x the effective megapixels at the current Q... it would devastate bmpcc an make them cry like babies.

someone needs to make a waist level finder mirror for mirror-less cams... i was lookin at older finders and its hard to see anything out there that could be attached without severe modifications like 1/4-20 tapping it into a old flash cam handle shoe. maybe using a bmpcc cage and put the q in it with the old 6x6-7 waist level finder mirror reflecting up...etc.

the 110 adapter needs a slit to allow "petzval" aperture drop ins...other than that i would remove the front element and put a disc right behind it. would make for some awesome boka.

pentax should make a q-mount to m42 10mm-20mm(range) helicoid with integrated 2X speedbooster + leaf shutter. then u all of the m42 adapters for every lens in existence become much more versatile. i dare pentax to be so bold ^^ (the optical group would probably have to move with the helicoid.)
starting with m4/3 then Robot & Leica etc.
back to the subject at hand. u would have to buy a speed booster in the first place lets say nex pk booster... measure the distance from the back end of the optical group to the nex mount. add the nex flange focal distance to that number and thats how far the back of the optical group has to be from the Q sensor. 8.8mm difference between q and nex FFD. (if im correct)
also u have to keep in mind the pk flange focal distance as well--unless speed boosters negate that number. if they do not then u would be required to match the pk mount flange focal distance overall total distance + on top of the nex booster + nex flange focal distance. yeah...
get all that right then glue a sanded pk cap to a reamed out d-mount adapter(for image circle) and redo all ur math with that in mind as well. HAH!!

the best upgrade for q would be a Foveon X3 panoramic sensor that works with all the already existing lenses. this does not change the effective "megapixels". im not sure if the existing lens size image circle will support much wider sensor...but then again theres a world of cine lens out there. if it was stretched 1-2 more millimeters (whatever it takes to make the PENTAX 02 Standard Zoom become wider FOV--from 27mm start to 17mm) (noting if the image cirle of the standard zoom can even do that???)
also need live hdmi..then it becomes a movie making machine that would rival bmpcc!!!
heres the perfect name...
Q-Pan
someone should pitch that pentax get a kickstarter going....

i think pentax should have made a short m42/m39 helicoid "speed booster" with the shutter in it instead of whats available. speed booster is just a magnifying lens. a 13mm helicoid has plenty of room for all that. that would have opened a market for pentax to make new official adapters.

i found a som berthiot "hupan" d-mount zoom on ebay and got it for more than reasonable price. while waiting for it i had a camera dream and the lens was made of solid glass. it was really quite beautiful in the dream. to end the story im in the process of cleaning it up. the zoom was near frozen and focus stiff beyond usable. fortunately the first cine zooms were very simple designs.
